Venezolanisches Öl ist kein "flüssiges Gold", sondern zäher Asphalt (buchstäblich). Um diesen Schlamm überhaupt aus dem Boden zu bekommen und pipelinefähig zu machen, braucht man Unmengen an Energie und Chemikalien. Saudi-Arabien fördert ein Barrel für ca. 5 Dollar, in Venezuela eher 30+ Dollar. Die Anlagen sind Wracks. Man müsste 20 bis 30 Milliarden Dollar investieren, nur damit der Betrieb überhaupt wieder anläuft. Bei einem Marktpreis von heute 57 Dollar bleibt kaum Marge hängen. Das Öl ist nicht das Ziel.
