Selfish or Unselfish. Watch a kid when he does things that don't benefit him directly. Pick balls in cage, shag, clean dugout after game, pick up or carry equipment, chase a foul ball, reaction when a teammate does well, work on field, etc. It will tell you a lot about how he was raised.
