Folks is shook because this draft is making every team draft like Bill Belichick Consensus boards are for a theoretical team that has no particular culture/ethos/scheme/philosophy These teams are drafting for a specific culture, etc so their boards are very different

There’s a lot I like about this draft: Mickey avoided trading up; he addressed many of the lack of talent holes on the roster; made a good trade on a former 7th overall pick. Team has a lot of holes and it’s year 2 of the rebuild. Worried about CB.

I was one of the ones who didn't think CB was as much of a priority as most people did. Figured Justin Reid and either Blackmon/Sanker would play safety and the other would fill in at Alontae's spot.

I saw someone make the Odell Beckham Jr. comp the other day and now I can’t not see it. The ball tracking and vice grip hands obviously made OBJ elite elite, but the suddenness/smoothness and ability to flip momentum, glide and then explode instantly to top speed is so similar.

@FreakyPeezy Keionte Scott is a guy, along with Treydan Stukes, who the Saints could be higher on than most because of scheme fit (the Alontae role).

@budrich17 I agree with your top 3 here, nice move including Moore. If you add Howell and TJ Parker there are 5 promising EDGE prospects on the board going into day 2. I can’t remember that happening before.

If Saints take EDGE Day 2… look for R Mason Thomas, Gabe Jacas, and Derrick Moore If Saints don’t take EDGE Day 2… look for Kayvon Thibodeaux by August.

The closer we get to the draft, the more it sounds like these seven players will be off the board when the Saints pick at 8: Mendoza, Reese, Love, Bailey, Downs, Tate and Styles. Not sure on order but those guys look like the clear -- if that's possible in this draft -- top 7.

@MattHarmon_BYB and I talked about drops on the latest episode of the @RecepPerception show and he mentioned the piece he wrote back in 2016 about negativity bias over-inflating their significance I was 16 then so I hadn’t read it. So good, drops aren’t real (🔗⬇️)

@SaintsForecast @FreakyPeezy The 2 previous HC regimes were fixated on the big DE prototypes. Had to have them to run what they wanted and felt like if they didn’t draft them early they couldn’t get them. The team now has an odd front DC, will be interesting to see how it plays out

Here’s my fear about Saints taking Bain, the Saints under Jeff Ireland have shown no ability at all to evaluate top 50 defensive ends/pass rushers. Irelands failures go back to trading up for Deion Jordan with Dolphins. And now you want me to trust them drafting the biggest arm length exception ever? Can’t do it

@BrianDeLuciaNFL I’m high on him. He weighed in 5 pounds less than McCoy but the narrative takes shape and all of a sudden he’s Emmanuel Forbes.

Malik Muhammad is a lot of natural talent to be a #2 or elite sub-package defense. The lack of bulk limits some of the upside and must clean up some of the over-aggressiveness in his game. The right CB coach could bring out the best in him as a solid mid-late Day 2 pick.
