If I were 18 today, I would focus on a few simple things not shortcuts, not hype.
First, I would master one programming language deeply.
Not just syntax. But thinking. Problem solving. Patterns.
Second, I would work on communication.
Because your ideas are only as powerful as your ability to explain them.
Third, I would become hands-on with every relevant AI tool.
Not just using them for answers but understanding how they work, where they fail, and how to build with them.
I would write daily.
Code daily.
Learn daily.
At 18,
You need skills.
You don’t need funding.
You need fundamentals.
The world is moving fast.
But the winners will still be those who build strong basics early.
Focus on language.
Focus on communication.
Focus on AI literacy.
Do this for 3–4 years silently…
And the doors will open loudly.

last month, i cold emailed a yc founder.
now, i’m joining zymbly.com (yc w26) as forward-deployed engineer.
here’s how it happened.
i love aviation, so when i came across zymbly, i cold emailed one of the founders, Ben. persistently. until he responded.
a few chats and demo’s later, i took interviews 2 & 3 from an airbnb on holidays in poland while my mates were out partying.
10 mins after the interview, i get a phone call
“this is a bit crazy, but can you come to america TOMORROW?”
24 hours & an emergency flight back to dublin later, i was on the plane to the east coast.
instead of college lectures, i was walking the hangar floor, talking to mechanics, and prototyping features. i instantly knew this was going to be my thing.
and 2 days later, i had an offer!
at zymbly, we’re building AI automations for aircraft mechanics. trust me, it’s really f*cking cool.
being an early hire at a yc-backed startup with such cool founders is wild to me.
so hyped. let’s go!

You can beat me at almost everything easily, but one thing you will find difficult to match is the number of hours I put in every single day. Maybe you can do it for a few days, but doing it for multiple years is different.
Remember, motivation is overrated. Discipline is what builds you.

- 16 part-time employees
We will possibly hire a bit more in the upcoming 4-5 months.
We have been profitable every month, which has helped us build cash reserves that will be key as we scale up from here.
One thing I have learned in this journey is to let go of things others can do and focus on what others can’t. You may love it the most, but businesses don’t run when you do the ordinary.

I genuinely love companies that care even after the sale is done or you are onboarded. It is very rare.
@Razorpay is one such company.
Every time we raise a ticket, the team follows up, checks if things are resolved, and makes sure we are actually satisfied.
We recently got onboarded to their payroll software, and the experience was again incredible. Nitesh and team made the entire process super smooth.
Last month we opened a new razorpay account moving our account from sole proprietorship to private limited. The migration of rates and all was taken care, and the support again 👏🏻
Great product is one thing. Great support is what builds long-term trust.
Keep up the amazing work, team @Razorpay. Kudos @harshilmathur and management.
