@RugbyReg I'm sure @bendarwin will be very disappointed to see another team wear a one off strip in a completely different colour for a must win game
English

@kinson88 @iainpayten @StanSportAU @StanSportRugby @wwos @SMHsport What's happening with the CBA and salary cap? If it doesn't increase after so many static years are our super clubs going to be able to compete in the global player market? Or does RA intend to offset this by spending more on wallabies top ups?
English

Some big news to get through on #InsideLine tomorrow @iainpayten. As always, will aim to answer a few questions submitted to #Mailbag… fire away ⬇️ | @StanSportAU @StanSportRugby @wwos @SMHsport

@HuwTindall @mattfa91 @mward1246 @Hugh_96 Over half that 23 got their pro start outside the tahs (JAS still in NSW):
Kailea
Dobbins
Amatosero
Blyth
Scott-Young
Samu
Debreczeni
Creighton
Sua'ali'i*
Fainga'a
Talataina
Potter
Some were NSW growing up, but the fact they were initially missed is part of the problem
English

@mattfa91 @mward1246 @Hugh_96 Na they aren't the transit lounge. More the launchpad sending talent elsewhere in Australia or overseas. Not many come into the Tahs from outside the state.
English

The lads put in an effort & at times looked good. Pleased to see JAS have a better game. Sid Harvey👏
TBH while I had hopes I didn’t think they were going to make the finals.
Heartbreak for Waratahs as finals hopes go up in smoke with Highlanders loss rugby.com.au/news/heartbrea…

@harrisondale88 @kinson88 @iainpayten @StanSportRugby @StanSportAU @SMHsport @wwos Hasn't it? I'd like to see some hard numbers around how much teams are engaging in the pick and drive on the line now vs then but it definitely feels like there's less of it (from the smart teams at least) then before.
Beyond that it's a much better restart than the 5m scrum was
English

@kinson88 @iainpayten @StanSportRugby @StanSportAU @SMHsport @wwos A little late, but I’ll put it up now for next week.
On the topic of pick and drives on the line, SR introduced the drop out law for held up over the line to discourage it. It hasn’t worked.
At what point does SR change a law back if it didn’t work (have they ever?)? They should!
English

Back in the pod studio with @iainpayten tomorrow for #InsideLine… fire through your questions for #Mailbag | @StanSportRugby @StanSportAU @SMHsport @wwos
English

@Gary32t @rugby_podcast He was literally the World Rugby number 8 of the year last year
English

@rugby_podcast He has always been a great SR player. He has just been very average internationally, appointing him captain was such an odd decision by Schmidt.
English

People not on the Harry Wilson train need to get their head examined. Has been on fire since coming back from injury this year. So skilful. Link play not acknowledged enough. And won Rivals. #BLUvRED
English

@steve_l15 It was actually a really good game from Doleman, and as a spectacle overall. Can't complain, despite the disappointment
English

@NotRobSimmons @Rugby_Scoop This isn't about a world cup game, it's about a nation's championship game this year, one that is ostensibly a home game for Japan
English

@Rugby_Scoop Everyone cue your outrage, a World Cup game is being held a 90 minute drive from Australia’s largest city’s CDB. The nerve!
English

@Sambruce86 @espnscrum Is there any appetite/plan to standardize test player resting protocol for Australian an New Zealand sides, and then make sure future draws account for this with bye timing, so the best players are on the field as much as possible?
English

Okay, Super Rugby Pacific boss Jack Mesley headed to the Schmidthouse this afternoon for @espnscrum Reset.
Hit us with your questions, and we'll give the best of them a run.
English

@rugby_podcast We also need to find a way to pay players their worth, or they're going to explore these options
English

I know Tier 1 nations have done this for years and Australia has benefited. But World Rugby has these eligibility rules all wrong. Every year we seem to need a C-grade Test just to cap our players with grandparents. This story comes up multiple times a season.
OBBY@OBBY001
🚨BREAKING🚨 We can’t let this happen surely 🤷♂️ Dubbed Australia's strongest footballer, Queensland Reds & rising Wallabies prospect Massimo De Lutiis could be switching allegiances, with Ireland Rugby making a bold bid to poach the tight head prop. Part 1 of 2
English

@Nelsonhdale Haloholo light years ahead of Talataina right now, and Latu, Scott or Bryant on the bench. It'd be K Pritchard (BRU) or Pakeho at 13. Grealy at 15 and Muirhead on the wing. T Pritchard before Harvey for the wing right now, but it's very early days for both.
English

@OBBY001 Neither could the media voters.
Both Cully and rugby.com.au picked 3 other tahs in their teams too, should all of 4 have received the votes? Does being the best 13 in the round necessarily mean you were in the top 3 performers for your team?
English

Very similar selections in Cully’s Oz team of the week & Rugby.com.au’s team of the week with both selecting Triston Reilly @ 13.
Meanwhile Les Kiss & Fraser McReight couldn’t muster a point for him in the Super Rugby Pacific Player of the Year Voting 🤷♂️

Bec Shaw@Brocklesnitch
i watched monk and here are is my updated 2000s procedurals ranking that nobody asks for: Elementary Monk Castle White Collar Bones
English

@HuwTindall No, did you see him get skinned by Jordie Barret?
He's still got something to offer at super level, but he's a mile of test rugby, or even what JOC was showing for the Crusaders last year
English

Is Beale back in the frame for Wallabies chat? Same age as JOC and he was fine last year. Was the ultimate super sub 23 on the bench back at the 2015 RWC. #HURvFOR
English

@pTah_XV How did he miss coached by a former North Sydney Bear???
English

@Rugby_Scoop Also helped by the fact that Potter's move to the tahs has come with a form dip in a crowded back 3 roster, whereas Lomax shouldn't struggle to get game time for the Force. Much easier to make a case on the field
English

@Rugby_Scoop No guarantee, but RA wouldn't have been involved in the process unless they thought he was a good chance. He's got some very useful attributes (powerful winger, good under the highball, kicks goals) given the current challenges in the squad but he'll still have to earn it
English

People are already talking about him playing for the Wallabies. Honestly, I see a lot of comments like this whenever a League player switches codes. Are League players guaranteed a spot in international rugby?
Western Force@westernforce
✍️ Welcome to the West, Zac Zac Lomax will join the Force on a two-year deal effectively immediately #StrongerTogether
English

@harrisondale88 Yes. I'm not inclined to jump for French propaganda and Welsh clickbait without any supporting evidence. Particularly when talking about the outcome of potential law changes - they're very rarely what people expect based on the law and I prefer to judge them on their own merit
English

@NAWilson Where there’s smoke there’s fire 🤷♂️ are you saying you just disagree/ don’t believe anything in the article?
English

As an Aussie, we are way off base here. For years our rugby tone has been to have less scrums, now they are saying the same for lineouts and mauls 🤦🏼♂️
I hope we lose every one of these suggested changes & instead decide to actually promote these parts of the game!
WalesOnline Rugby@WalesRugby
Plot to make seismic rugby law change leaked as World Rugby meeting held walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/ru…
English

@harrisondale88 I did, the article doesn't list any suggested changes. The closest is what I can only imagine is a mis-translation of a Raynal quote saying 'they' want to replace scrums with mauls - a ludicrous idea from both a rugby perspective but also the 'entertainment' one Oz are accused of
