Saint-Malo, Brittany, has the highest tides in Europe, with water that can rise 13 m over. These houses (here seen during storm Ciara), are built as a sea wall and 4 layer glass on the front windows [full video, HD, Easy Ride: buff.ly/3ypBcrw] twitter.com/pjoter79/statu…

@NBroit My fav abstract is only two words: "probably not", answering the long question asked in the title (and cited in the 1st SotN paper 😁)

Yesterday brought to a close my time at @QIMRBerghofer. I’ve been privileged to work with such great people. Excited to begin work with @MonashBDI, to contribute to an exciting new genomics course and begin research at the interface of genomics, aging and cancer. @Vicki_Whitehall

Small but mighty! This is a video of a killer T cell of the immune system destroying a monstrous ovarian cancer cell. I recently captured this data on a spinning disc confocal microscope.

@David_J_Adams Expectations in academia are totally warped. Quality over quantity should be everyone’s main concern.

I mean either you laugh or cry: Comment on a training grant - "My only criticism is the relatively small number of PhD students supervised (approx. 12 in 15 years).” I current have 5 PhD students in my lab and an M.Phil student! 12 GRADUATED in 15 years! Read it again!

This is one of the most famous images in photographic history. The first ever X-ray image was taken in 1895 by Wilhelm Röntgen – who was then awarded the first #NobelPrize in Physics in 1901. Read the story, 'A Helping Hand from the Media': bit.ly/2S3TlUS

You are here. In 2013, the Cassini spacecraft captured this wide-angle view of Saturn and a chunk of its rings. That pale blue dot just below the rings? That’s Earth from about 898 million miles (1.4 billion kilometers) away. Explore @NASASolarSystem: solarsystem.nasa.gov
