Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed states' authority to protect women's sports, women's spaces, and women's safety—an approach many states have already embraced. North Carolina has taken an important step by protecting women's sports, but it has yet to extend those protections to private spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms. It's time for the General Assembly to take that next step, because women and girls deserve safety, privacy, and dignity. #protectourdaughtersinNC #ProtectWomensSports

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a landmark ruling in two cases — West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox — holding that states may lawfully require student athletes to compete on sports teams consistent with their biological sex, and that such laws do not violate Title IX or the Equal Protection Clause.  NC Values Coalition Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald said, “Today, the highest court confirmed what female athletes, parents, and coaches have always known: women’s sports exist to give women a fair and safe chance to compete. That principle is the entire foundation of Title IX. This decision means that North Carolina’s law which guarantees fairness and safety for women and girls in athletic competition will be upheld as constitutional. This is a great day for women and girls in North Carolina and across our nation. We'd like to give a special thank you to all the women and girls who were brave enough to take a stand, including our dear friend Payton McNabb.” #protectwomenssports #protectourdaughtersnc

I spoke on the House floor to mark the 4th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s historic decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Four years after Dobbs, the fight for life is not finished. Congress must continue to defend the sanctity of every human life.

69% of Americans oppose/strongly oppose using tax dollars to support abortion in other countries. The Promoting Human Flourishing in Foreign Assistance Actwould codify the expanded Global Protect Life Rule to ensure that not a dime of taxpayer money bankrolls abortion overseas. We are grateful to @SenTedBuddNC for introducing this bill to protect life & prevent the promotion of a radical abortion agenda around the globe.

Laura Lindsey is the Chair of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners and mother to a 17-year-old daughter in public school in Cabarrus County. She is concerned for the safety of her daughter - and all daughters in the county she serves - because boys are currently accessing girls’ bathrooms in the public schools. Her local school board is refusing to fix the problem. Yesterday, the US Department of Education opened an investigation into Cabarrus County for violating Title IX protections of women’s private spaces. Now, she is asking lawmakers to step up and Protect Our Daughters. #protectourdaughtersnc

Congressman Mark Harris is standing up for Addy, Lyla, Sophia, and all the girls in our state who have been forced to share their private spaces - including bathrooms and locker rooms - with biological males in K-12 schools. And he is calling on elected officials to put a stop to this abuse now. Thank you for your leadership, Congressman Harris. We must Protect Our Daughters in North Carolina. #protectourdaughtersnc

PROTECT OUR DAUGHTERS. Today, I urged the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights to fully investigate reports coming out of Cabarrus County. It's common sense! Girls should not be forced to share bathrooms or locker rooms with biological males.
