3/3 Samuel Z. Westerfield Award: We bestow this prestigious honor not annually, but only when an economist’s work and contributions are consistent with the highest standards of excellence. This year, the honor was ours to celebrate Patrick L. Mason, PhD– an innovator in Economics

2/3 50 years: In 1975, we changed our name to better fit our desire for expansion. 50 years later, our call to promote economic growth among native and immigrant African Americans, Latinos, and other people of color has been heard across the U.S. and abroad.
