As someone who was part of the relief efforts during the Delhi 2020 riots, I saw how compromised the police is. There were critically injured patients trapped inside Al-Hind Hospital who needed urgent transfer to better-equipped facilities. A journalist flagged the situation to me, and I reached out to the health department. Ambulances were dispatched without delay. Just 200 meters from the hospital, they were stopped by the blood thirsty mob. When the drivers requested the police to clear a safe passage, the response they got was: “Go at your own risk.” The ambulances never made it to the hospital, and two people with bullet injuries lost their lives waiting. I still think about that night; had the police done their job, those lives could have been saved.

Toxic Blue Poison in Noida's Residential Drain – Sector 66, Mamura This small stormwater drain (nallah) in Block M, Mamura, Noida was built ONLY for rainwater and treated water. Instead, it’s carrying untreated bright blue dye wastewater straight from illegal small-scale dyeing units running inside residential homes and backyards. The toxic sample I’m holding? Fresh from the drain. This chemical cocktail (dyes, heavy metals, surfactants) flows into bigger drains and eventually kills the Yamuna River. How do these dyeing units operate in residential areas? They are tiny, unauthorised backyard factories (mostly jeans/textile dyeing) that skip Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs), use massive groundwater, and dump waste directly into stormwater drains — all in non-industrial zones, violating land-use norms. Why can’t authorities (Noida Authority, UPPCB, police) stop them. Hundreds still run openly in Noida/Greater Noida despite repeated complaints. Our river, groundwater & health are paying the price.
