I think it more so speaks to the depth that the Braves have built. There are 6 MLB locks in the bullpen. They’re probably going to carry Suarez as the king man. A job Karinchak doesn’t fit. And then they’re probably going to carry a 6th starter.

@2021Hawks @JonPgh It’s spring training, not the World Series. Results don’t matter. Many pitchers are throwing different pitch mixes to work on things (often times forced by the team). Mowing down minor leaguers in the spring (he’s faced an average of a AA player) isn’t a valuable dev decision.

He’s also running 55% zone swing. Which is likely not a sustainable number. So yes he’s chasing less, but he’s also just swinging less in general, while facing what would be a MLB low zone% (42%) on pitches.
