This is what our President who is blind said about the bus stop design where you step off the bus onto a narrow bus boarder next to a cycle lane on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest ‘Not fit for purpose. It really is totally inaccessible. These sorts of designs should be scrapped’

Tactile paving in Blake St has now been replaced with the correct colour for the crossing type, except the tails which remain grey 🙄 Do it right, do it once. For a council that continually pleads poverty, I wonder how much this error cost ⁉️ FOI request incoming.

After the almighty row about York Central wanting to use the wrong colour tactile at signalised crossings (which we won 🙌) Council now replaces old with grey instead of red as part of Blake St roadworks. Give me strength. #AccessFail

@edinburghpaper Not sure how Leith Walk got through planning.
NFBUK@NFBUK

New bus stops in #LeithWalk Edinburgh are not safe for blind people as Sandy explains ‘How can they approve these designs? It’s totally confusing to any blind person. I wouldn’t come here independently. It’s totally inaccessible to people like me. I just find it unbelievably bad’

Mayor Mamdani is putting countless New Yorkers at risk with change to e-bike rules - I know because I was critically hurt by one trib.al/F26qzzY

.@AdamHug this is not safe or accessible for blind people, so why are you allowing more floating bus stops in Westminster? Why are blind peoples safety and access needs not being acted on? Please answer. @myldn @VoteTimBarnes @EllyBakerAM @EmmaBest22 @AndrewBoff @LondonAssembly
NFBUK@NFBUK

.@Heidi_Labour has sold blind people down the river when it comes to floating bus stops. These designs are inherently unsafe, inaccessible and dangerous, in anyway shape or form. There is a @BSI_UK on bus stops in cycle lanes which has been ignored. Shame on you @Keir_Starmer.

@ElizabethMistry @NFBUK @YorkDisability Yes, within the proposed bus gated area there are a number of businesses, including restaurants that disabled and older people would be prevented from being dropped off at the door by taxi or private vehicle if they hold a blue badge.

Rougier Route (bus gates) goes for pre-decision scrutiny on Tuesday. Report is shocking. Devoid or any data, meaningful or otherwise. My consultation objection was longer❗️Asks members to make recommendations on exemption for taxis & blue badge holders. #PSED anyone⁉️
