I stood on the picket line and fought to help hotel workers unionize the Marriott. I demanded a pay raise and healthcare for sanitation workers during the pandemic. And we won. Honored to have been named Legislator of the Year by @BaltFamilies We were told that summer school couldn’t be open 5 days per week. So we created Field Trip Friday’s and over 700 kids visited a great Baltimore cultural institution. We were told that the pool at Patterson Park was closed and there was nothing we could do. So we built a splash pad with community so families could cool down. We were told that our elders felt disrespected by City Government so we created a cabinet-level Office of Aging. If we want to keep families in Baltimore, we need to solve basic, quality of life problems. I am grateful to the Family Alliance for their advocacy and Mazel tov to my co-honoree @odetteramos
