@ctclimatejobs This is important to point out. They started off strong with the Toyota Prius, but then doubled down on fossil fueled hybrids rather than all electric. Toyota is a real climate bummer.

@ctclimatejobs City of New Haven and a bunch of organizations just put a lot of time into a (successful) application for the EPA Thriving Communities Grant. Now that grant along with many others are stopped by the new administration. Won't the same thing happen to this one? Not good.

@CTDOTOfficial Please don't forget sidewalks and multiuse trails. There are often sidewalks on CT DOT properties in CT cities that never get cleared of snow and ice. That's where folks most need snow and ice cleared for safe mobility and walking to work and bus stops.

@NHCAT1 Hi, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, I don't have a depth of knowledge relating to the housing aspect of this situation. Many on here do, so you might wish to post a separate thread in this regard.

Latest fed grant to CTDOT has some goodies for Springfield, including anew early-morning train SPG-NHV and continued funding for two trains added last year. Other funds going to in-state trains to Windsor Locks which helps BDL travelers. Hopefully they add shuttle buses, too.

@StreetsblogNYC E-bikes sold by bike shops all have a Class (I, 2, or 3) sticker or decal on the frame. More important than trying to call a Class 3 e-bike a moped, shouldn't we be pushing harder to put speed limiters on motor vehicles. No one should be able to drive 100 mph in a 25 mph zone.

@StreetsblogNYC There's a big difference between a Class 3 e-bike (28 mph max) and a 40 mph moped, especially Class 3 e-bikes that don't include a throttle. Please don't lump those two light (electric) vehicle types together.

Gov. Hochul says that Class-3 e-bikes should be classified as mopeds. That's not a bad idea, but will cops be able to recognize the difference? Can you? (Answer will be posted in this thread).

@SteveFainer @Amtrak That is terribly unfortunate. When I'm traveling between Hartford and New Haven I do my best to use the CTrail trains. There is plenty of room and no $20 bike ticket reservation nonsense.

Quick question: Is this platform helpful for getting out information about safe streets, traffic calming, & classes in New Haven? We don't see much engagement & may drop the platform since it is ineffective for organic reach, even with those that follow our account. Thoughts?
