Groundbreaking legislation - Bill H 4743 - has been filed in SC to require S&C certifications for coaches/teachers in weight rooms! scstatehouse.gov/sess126_2025-2… This is a major step toward safe S&C programming for students ….but there has to be further action for the bill to move forward. The bill needs to reach the committee level. Once on the committee level, there will be revisions and more discussion. But a monumental first step! Maybe this can serve as a roadmap for other states!

"The weight room is the most dangerous classroom on campus...there needs to be someone qualified running the weight room." Had an emergency press conference with @kade_mcgee7 who is the Director of Athletic Performance at Opelika High School and @NHSSCA_AL State Director to talk about why all high schools need a qualified strength and conditioning coach running the weight room.
