Shoutout to the late, great Uncle Kurt Hester—Yosef repping the LA Tech hoodie in his honor. This week’s conversation centers around Dynamic Correspondence—right in @NutromicSports wheelhouse given his experience with Dr. Michael Yessis and Anatoliy Bondarchuk. We get into where coaches and companies think they’re applying Dynamic Correspondence—but completely miss the mark. Yosef then breaks down what it actually is, along with Special Strength Exercises and Transfer of Training, through the lens of Yessis, Bondarchuk, Yuri Verkhoshansky, and Vladimir Zatsiorsky. Runners Hinge or SL RDL to SL Hip Flexion is a simple movement with multiple benefits. It can be used during warm up and movement prep, or programmed later in training as accessory work. When loaded appropriately, it becomes a strong option for developing: • Single-leg stability • Balance and control • Hip flexor strength • Coordination through stance and swing phases @Dr_JustinLima also shares additional drills he has been testing since hearing @bobbystroupe present at the KU Sports Performance Clinic. Small exercise additions like this can create big returns over time. Click below for blog: strengthcoachnetwork.com/blog/Complex

Team sport S&C coaches do you work with an athlete that isn't going to the next level in his or her sport, but they are GREAT at Olympic lifts - listen up. Coach @JMaloneStrength joined the Cheeky Mid Weeky to share what @USWeightlifting is doing with Athlete Identification & Recruitment Initiative is a targeted USA Weightlifting effort designed to identify exceptional athletes from non-weightlifting sports whose physical qualities, movement characteristics, and long-term potential align with the demands of Olympic-style weightlifting. There are several examples that Coach talks about in this episode. Click below for the full podcast: youtube.com/watch?v=ukDeLQ…

Your data is the only data that truly matters. Here’s why. If you see a neck strength number without context, that number means very little. Was the athlete seated or standing? Was the torso stabilized? Was the head being manually pulled? What device was used? What was the testing position? What instructions were given? Without understanding the methodology, comparisons become misleading. Many coaches look at “normative data” and wonder why their athletes don’t match it. But in most cases, they are comparing completely different testing environments, different athletes, and different systems. That’s not a useful comparison. The most valuable data is the data you collect inside your program, using your methods, with your athletes. That allows you to compare: Athlete to athlete within your system Athlete to self over time Position group trends Year-over-year development inside your program That is actionable data. Be careful of buying into the idea that outside benchmarks are the main value of technology. Ownership of your data, consistency of collection, and clarity of methodology matter far more. And if you do use outside reference values, always review how those numbers were collected before applying them to your setting. Your athletes are not someone else’s athletes. Your environment is not someone else’s environment. Coach accordingly.

If @MashElite who has coached elite athletes, developed Team USA lifters, and spent his life around Olympic lifting—can say team sport athletes do not have to clean… why is that still so hard for some coaches to accept? The clean is not the issue. It can be a great exercise. But it is not the goal. The goal is stronger, faster, more prepared athletes who can perform in their sport. If another exercise gets that result with less teaching time, less technical barrier, and better buy-in… why wouldn’t you use it? Some coaches defend the clean like it’s untouchable. But coaching is not about protecting tradition. It’s about solving problems and getting results with the athletes in front of you. Real coaching maturity is knowing the difference between the method and the mission. So ask yourself: Are you coaching athletes… or defending exercises? Hear me speak about this tomorrow April 25, 2026 at the @NSCA Iowa State clinic hosted at Central College Video from @NebStrength State Clinic in March 2026

"Always happy for other people's success" This is something Coach Ferentz would tell the staff and players at Iowa Football. Here at Strength Coach Network we believe the same. Congrats to Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price for both being selected in the first round of the NFL draft last night. And congrats to Coach Loren Landow and the entire Notre Dame Football S&C Staff for the role they played in Jeremiyah and Jadarian success.

Call these RFE or Bulgarian Split Squats - doesn't matter, just make sure you and the staff use the same terminology. Either way this is a great progression of the movement. Like Ashley said in her original video DO NOT randomly throw this into your athlete's program. At first you need to understand how it best fits the athletes YOU work with and YOU serve. So, experiment with it on yourself to understand what is a good load, tempo, and rep range. Play with it for weeks before using with your athletes. Then, use it with those who NEED it - you know your athletes - so be smart and use it when necessary.

Running in place on a force plate. Why? Seriously, why? Why do this? The sprint kinematics here do not look like sprinting on a court, field, etc... What data collected here will change anything you do as a coach? This isn't it y'all. If you want more used with your force plates, do the upper body movements as we have shown you. Even in the RTP process not sure how effective this is.

Here’s a hot take Most dynamic warmups are more about making the S&C coach look smart and important than they are about the purpose of a warmup (to increase body temperature and prepare you to train) Skipping 3 laps around a gym and running a warmup sprint is equally effective.

This was from @DerekMHansen speed course and RTP course. It was just a demonstration of ways to use the force plate and how much vertical impulse you can get from a stationary and controlled position. Someone at Vald and him are doing early research on it and showed us at the end of the second day. Coach Hansen can better example his experiences with this. Hope this helps to add context.

715lb Hand Supported Back Squat for SPEED! Would LOVE to know what the peak velocity was on this. Everyone in Bondurant–Farrar High getting after it with Coach Beauregard. You can tell Coach Beauregard runs a GREAT weight room with how dialed in the spotters are (and didn't touch the bar AT ALL) - and how excited the athlete was. PS - this athlete had their own VBT device - what do you think the average velocity was? Let us know down below

@StrCoachNetwork @ForcePlateCoach Exactly. Our sprints on dashr silver on hardwood won’t yield the same outcomes someone else will get on a track or in a hallway. What we do and don’t allow on a jump mat might be the same as someone else. Nor will cueing jump high or jump fast yield the same as cueing big jump

The. Only. Data. That. Matters. Is. Yours. This comes from my convo with @ForcePlateCoach when too many coaches in our field get obsessed with “normative data” Nailed it @Brandon_L_Davis And remember coaches, you don’t know how the normative data was collected. Focus on you.
Brandon Davis, CSCS@Brandon_L_Davis

In house data > trying to compare to other coaches’ data. This jump would give you a different number on every different brand’s mat. It’d be about a 36.3 on a just jump. It’s a 31.7 on dashr. All that really matters is it’s higher than he’s jumped before 🤷🏻‍♂️
