NIBM India – Barclays Engagement Event | Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration The National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM India) on March 11, 2026, hosted an insightful NIBM-Barclays Industry Interaction and Panel Discussion, bringing together senior leaders from Barclays and the NIBM community to discuss the evolving role of compliance in the global banking ecosystem. A collaborative elective course on Compliance and Risk Management was proposed during the interaction, reflecting the shared vision of strengthening academic learning through industry expertise. The panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Suyash Srivastava (PGDM 2024–26) and the event was anchored by Ms. Isha Soni (PGDM 2025–27). On 12th March, 2026, a case writing workshop was conducted by Dr. Satyendra C Pandey (Faculty of IRMA) for NIBM faculty members. The workshop stressed the importance of a structured approach for publishing relevant case studies, which can help in promoting better decision-making among MBA students and working executives. NIBM India unveils Coffee Table Book showcasing its rich green heritage beyond banking… National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) on March 10, 2026, unveiled Beyond Banking: The Green Soul of NIBM, a Coffee Table Book that captures the rich biodiversity thriving on its green diversity campus. The launch was held in the institute’s campus area long admired for its lush green cover and ecological vibrancy. The publication reflects years of collective effort by NIBM’s faculty, staff, students, and institutional partners, including the Reserve Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, and local authorities. The campus, home to thousands of trees and numerous bird species, including India’s national bird, the peacock, continues to serve as a model of sustained environmental care. Shri Nidhu Saxena, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra, graced the occasion by planting a sapling as the chief guest of the event. NIBM Director Prof. Partha Ray warmly welcomed him to the campus. Mr Saxena recalled several cherished memories of his past visits to the campus and praised NIBM for its enduring commitment to preserving its natural green environment, an ethos for leadership, he noted, that truly extends “beyond banking.” Chief Administrative Officer, Mrs Soni Philip, who led the biodiversity research initiative alongside a dedicated team of research students and administration team was acknowledged for her crucial role in turning the project into reality. The programme was anchored by Prof. Anjan Roy, Dean of Executive Training Programmes and the Convenor, Infrastructure Development Committee (IDC) who extended a vote of thanks, recognising all the contributors whose efforts, both visible and behind the scenes, made the publication possible. National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM India) continued its observance of International Women’s Day with a special commemorative session by NIBM faculty Smita Roy Trivedi, PhD, who emphasised the evolving landscape of women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in India. In her address, Dr Trivedi highlighted the urgent need to strengthen women’s participation in the labour force, noting that India still lags behind global benchmarks. She emphasised that diversity must be viewed as a core strategic imperative for inclusion, and underscored that gender identities are no longer confined to binary definitions. Dr Trivedi also drew attention to the institute’s She-Ventures initiatives, outlining various activities designed to support and encourage women innovators and entrepreneurs. Director, NIBM Prof. Partha Ray, graced the occasion and reflected on the unique challenges faced by women in leadership and entrepreneurial domains. He reiterated the institute’s commitment to fostering an innovation-driven ecosystem & process that enables women to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to a more equitable future. IIC student members Ms Gauri Kulkarni and Mr Sarthak Dongare hosted the event. The valedictory session of the ‘International conference on Digitalization for Inclusive Finance and Sustainability’ organized by College of Agricultural Banking, Pune and NIBM was held on 6th March 2026. The Chief Guest Shri Swaminathan J, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, delivered the valedictory address through video conference which was attended by the conference delegates, senior bankers, policy makers, academicians, faculty members of college of agricultural banking and NIBM, and PGDM students of NIBM. In his address, RBI Deputy Governor Shri Swaminathan appreciated the initiative taken by College of Agricultural Banking and NIBM to host the conference which focused on digitalization for inclusive finance and sustainability. Shri Swaminathan stressed upon the importance of going beyond digitalization to ensure inclusiveness with dignity. He urged the banks to ensure mainstreaming and scaling up of sustainable finance through digital channels while building resilient systems with strong governance. RBI Deputy Governor Shri Swaminathan stressed that systems should be built for the most vulnerable users while having clear pathways to strengthen fairness and resilience through a collaborative approach. The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Partha Ray, Director, NIBM and concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Jaikish Principal, College of Agricultural Banking.

College of Agricultural Banking, Pune (CAB) and National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM India), jointly organised the International Conference on Digitalisation for Inclusive Finance and Sustainability (March 5–6, 2026). The panel discussion on “Policy and Strategic Framework in the Digital Financial Ecosystem” brought together distinguished experts to reflect on the future of digital finance in India. The panel featured Shri Indraneel Ajitkumar Pandit, EVP & CDO, Federal Bank; Shri Brijesh Baisakhiyar, Deputy General Manager, FinTech Department, RBI; and Shri Satyenkumar Jadeja, IBM Consulting Strategic Sales Lead – BFSI. The Panel was moderated by Dr Naveen Kumar K, Associate Professor, NIBM. The discussion explored India’s Digital Public Infrastructure, regulatory innovation, AI-driven finance, cyber resilience, and the evolving fintech–bank collaboration. The session emphasized the need for balanced policies that foster innovation while ensuring stability, trust, and inclusive digital financial growth.

College of Agricultural Banking, Pune (CAB) and National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM India), jointly organised the International Conference on Digitalisation for Inclusive Finance and Sustainability (March 5–6, 2026). The conference deliberated on different themes e.g. Digital Financial Inclusion for Equitable Growth, Financing Sustainable Development and Climate Resilience through Digital Transformation and FinTech, Digital Infrastructure, and Supporting Startup Ecosystem. The themes covered in the conference included papers on gender disparity in digital financial inclusion, the relationship between digital transactions and household consumption, case study of State Bank of India’s digital ecosystem for SME financing, P2P lending platforms, machine learning models in fintech, role of development financial institutions in climate finance, Climate-Adjusted Probability model of Default (CA-PD) for agriculture credit and digitalization and environment sustainability in Uganda. Shri Muralikrishna M., Faculty, College of Agricultural Banking, Dr. Kailas Patil, Dean-Faculty of Science and Technology, Vishwakarma University, and Dr. Nisha Bharti, Faculty, NIBM were the Track Chairs.

College of Agricultural Banking, Pune (CAB) and National Institute of Bank Management NIBM India, jointly organised the International Conference on Digitalisation for Inclusive Finance and Sustainability (March 5–6, 2026). A Special Address by Shri Rajesh Kumar, DMD, Agri and MSME, State Bank of India was organized on the topic “Mainstreaming ESG through Digital Finance: SBI’s Approach to Sustainable Credit Delivery”. Shri Rajesh Kumar shared his experience of dealing with digital finance and ESG. Digital financing is a critical driver for mainstreaming ESG by enhancing firm's Environmental, Social and Governance aspects through improved green innovation, reduced financial constraints and better monitoring. Shri Rajesh Kumar presented how the leading largest bank in India is actively mainstreaming ESG criteria into its lending operations by leveraging digital technology. The bank has established dedicated ESG and climate finance unit, adopted framework to integrate sustainability into credit underwriting, product design and risk management. Shri Dr. ArindamBandyopadhyay, Dean (Academic Program, NIBM chaired the session while, Shri saugata chakraborty , Faculty CAB proposed the vote of thanks.

A two-day International Conference on Digitalisation for Inclusive Finance and Sustainability organised by NIBM and College of Agricultural Banking, Pune, CAB-RBI, started on March 5, 2026. At the inaugural ceremony, Dr M. D. Patra, Chairman of the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi and Former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, delivered the keynote address and set the tone for the conference. Dr Patra emphasised that digitalisation is a silent revolution, noting that digital technologies are now central to global development. He highlighted how digital financial architecture is reshaping ecosystems worldwide while also drawing attention to the ongoing challenge of the global digital divide and India’s leading role in it. Prof. Partha Ray, Director, NIBM, and Shri Jaikish, Chief General Manager & Principal, CAB-RBI, extended a warm welcome to Dr Patra. The ceremony was also graced by Prof. Dr Kaushik Mukerjee, Professor & Dean (Research), NIBM, and Dr Anand Upadhyay, Vice Principal, CAB-RBI. The conference coordinators, Shri Saugata Chakraborty, who anchored the event, and Shri Murlee Krishna M from CAB-RBI, along with Dr. Naveen Kumar K and Dr Nisha Bharti from NIBM, were present on the occasion.
