#Jamaica’s favourite sardines: Brunswick Sardines in Soybean Oil, from the icy waters of the Baltic sea, were the most impressive of the inexpensive supermarket brands that we tested, and they even performed better than many higher-priced premium sardines. Tidy, intact, and packed in a translucent oil, their neat appearance already set them apart from similarly priced tins from Bumble Bee (Brunswick’s parent company) and Chicken of the Sea. The sweet, salty, and fresh-tasting flesh was touched with smoke flavor, bringing whitefish to mind for a couple of our testers. These sardines would be great on a bagel, on a buttered baguette, or any other way you enjoy smoked fish. Though we found the texture to be on the softer side, the sardines maintained their integrity and held up even when speared by a fork. Unlike our other picks, the Brunswick sardines are packed in soybean oil, which is more neutral than olive oil. We thought this might be a drawback, but the sardines maintained nuance regardless and actually seemed to benefit from the soybean oil’s clean flavor. And at around $2 per can, the value is unsurpassed. Country of origin: Poland nytimes.com/wirecutter/rev…

A lot of JA journalism is so poor - I've seen countless articles about cable vandalism in the last few months but never an explanation as to WHY it's being done.
