Claims by @GovSherrillNJ are getting more detached from reality by the day. She says she froze electric bills. She didn't. She touts a $25 electric bill credit without mentioning she cut it from $100 just weeks ago. She claims she's protecting New Jersey from federal SNAP and Medicaid changes, while her own budget cuts $260 million in state Medicaid funding despite roughly $1 billion more in federal support. She says there are "no new taxes" on individuals, even as New Jerseyans face automatic toll hikes, automatic NJ Transit fare increases and higher income tax collections driven by inflation. At some point, it's just marketing.

3). It's in Sherrill's own budget documents. She cut Medicaid funding while blaming Trump, but we got an additional $1 billion from the feds. 4) If you don't think Transit and toll hikes aren't taxes or that NJ taking more money on income taxes than ever before, maybe you don't understand.

Fact check: This post mixes verifiable facts with political framing. Sherrill did order a temporary freeze on certain electric rate increases—it wasn’t a permanent “bill freeze.” The “$25 instead of $100” claim lacks important context about the broader relief program. The Medicaid funding numbers need supporting evidence. And “no new taxes” is different from saying New Jerseyans won’t face higher costs from tolls, transit fares, or inflation-driven tax collections. Those are separate issues.

We'll take you on here. 1) Find the BPU action reinforcing her so called "electric bill freeze." You won't. It wasn't suppose to be temporary, the executive order is still suppose to be in force but the BPU has done nothing to enforce because it's an unworkable talking point. 2) The most under reported story of the month. Read it and tell us what you think: pressofatlanticcity.com/news/state-reg…

Another employer begins its migration. Scientists blame a hostile habitat: higher taxes, more regulations and a worsening business climate. After 86 years, Mars Wrigley is leaving. 🌰 Meanwhile, Trenton is spending $300,000 to help grow the state's official hazelnut—an invasive species that's not even native to New Jersey. Assemblyman @CPDePhillips says it's time to restore the habitat by lowering the corporate business tax.

🚨 @GovSherrillNJ signed the FAIR Act, and Trenton is about to make NJ’s housing crisis worse. NJ already has too little housing. This law adds: 📈 More lawsuits and penalties 🏛️ Less local control ⏳ Vague rules requiring a 12-month delay ⚖️ A legal theory already being challenged in federal court Landlords facing unpredictable liability will not build more apartments. They will pull back, sell or leave the market. Less supply means higher rents. NJ’s affordability crisis was not caused by renting software. It was caused by the nation’s highest property taxes and a government that makes housing harder and more expensive to build. Sherrill’s solution? Mamdani-style housing policy: more mandates, more government control and less housing.

NJ Assembly GOP presents the latest installment of Real Bills of Genius. While New Jersey families dealt with rising energy costs, power outages, and affordability concerns, the Legislature tackled one of the state's most pressing questions: Which nut should represent New Jersey? Meet the hazelnut—the Garden State's newest official symbol. Because when Trenton can't solve the big problems, at least it can designate the little ones.

FIFA is selling pieces of MetLife Stadium's grass for $450–$3,000 each. Projected total: $11.2 million. New Jersey taxpayers paid $13 million to install that grass. The NJSEA holds the land lease. Nobody asked New Jersey's permission. Assemblyman @MikeInganamort is demanding @GovSherrillNJ seek a restraining order. "FIFA needs to get off our turf. Literally." njassemblygop.com/m/newsflash/ho…

A New Jersey resident inherits $100,000 from an aunt. The state takes up to $16,000 before they see it. In Florida: $0. No inheritance tax. New Jersey is one of only 6 states that still taxes you personally for receiving money someone chose to leave you.

Federal Medicaid funding to NJ: ⬆️ @NJSherrill’s Medicaid budget: ⬇️ $260 million. After months of warning about Trump's impact on Medicaid, Democrats quietly made the cut themselves. The budget says "changed projections." Taxpayers and Medicaid recipients deserve a better explanation.

JCP&L failed NJ's reliability standards for years. The BPU fined it $44.1M. JCP&L's response? Fight the fine. Then 300,000 customers lost power over July 4 in dangerous heat. Assemblyman Greg McGuckin says enough is enough. His bills would require customer reimbursement and real accountability. njassemblygop.com/m/newsflash/ho…

The P.S. at the bottom of @votebergen’s letter to the AG: "I note the Division has promised the data broker registry will be operational 'in the spring of 2027.' I would simply observe that the Legislature managed to conceive, draft, pass, and enact this entire statute in 48 hours. Apparently we can build a $1.5 million penalty regime over a weekend, but reading it takes nine months." — Assemblyman Brian Bergen

On June 30, NJ passed a data broker law. The @GovSherrillNJ signed it. Ten days later, her administration announced it simply would not enforce it. No court order. No injunction. No constitutional challenge. Just: we've decided not to. @votebergen wrote the @NewJerseyOAG about it yesterday. It's a letter worth reading. 🧵

In March, @GovSherrillNJ stood at a monument to the American Revolution in Princeton and told a cheering crowd: "No kings. No crowns. We believe in the Constitution." Four months later, her administration unilaterally suspended an act of the Legislature she herself signed — because the political consulting class complained. @votebergen to the @NewJerseyOAG: "So let me be precise. No kings. NO QUEENS. No crowns. No thrones. And no dispensing power."

Here's the sequence @votebergen lays out: 📷 Law passes. Businesses threatened. Administration yawns — 10 days. 📷 Political consultants realize voter databases are affected. 📷 A consultant tells the press "the apocalypse is coming." 📷 Within hours: law suspended. 📷 Within hours after that: Democrats on a call with county chairs, voter data is safe. "That is not consumer protection. That is a self-dealing government protecting its own supply chain." — Asm. Brian Bergen

Last week, @GovSherrillNJ: "ratepayer relief." What she didn't say: ✅ She didn't create the credit. It was Phil Murphy's program ✅ She cut it 75% from $100 to $25 ✅ Low-income credit: cut from $175 to $150 ✅ Then held a press conference taking credit for it @AssemblymanKanitra: "Twenty-five dollars doesn't even cover a fast-food bill for a family, let alone deliver ratepayer relief or increase grid reliability." Today: another Extreme Heat Warning. August: your $25 arrives. njassemblygop.com/m/newsflash/ho…

July 4: @GovSherrillNJ held one briefing and said New Jersey was "moving really, really quickly." Saturday Night: No update. Sunday: A quick briefing before the World Cup match. No State of Emergency. No request for a federal disaster declaration. @DawnFantasia_NJ called it "dereliction of duty." Today: Another Extreme Heat Warning. Still no emergency declaration.

Two quotes from the ground after July 4th: "JCP&L keeps treating four- and five-day outages during heat emergencies like the cost of doing business. It has to stop." — Asm. Greg McGuckin "The infrastructure is abysmal. Local mayors get the blame, but we have no jurisdiction over JCP&L. They get their marching orders out of Ohio." — Bay Head Mayor Curtis Today: another Extreme Heat Warning.
