Wife, mom, teacher, Reds fan. I ❤ Joey Votto. Because language and leadership are inseparable. Because history is not shaped or moved by mediocre words.

Day 3: I posted some updates for my classes and for some reason it just hit me hard: I miss them. We might not go back. I don't teach because I love English, I teach because I love them.

The best schools don't just have great teachers—they have great teams. One of the strongest indicators of a healthy school culture? Teachers who genuinely want to learn from and support one another.

In your opinion, should children be forced to say "thank you" and "please"? 🤔

@FixingEducation My district is generally very purposeful when spending money, but there are definitely a few things that make me scratch my head. Tech is one of them. Overpaying a few folks who don't earn it is another. (NOT teachers -- they earn every cent!) Teachers can't speak up, sadly.

Teachers: Have you ever watched your school district spend money on something and thought: “Who approved this?” What is the biggest waste of taxpayer dollars you’ve seen in education? And should teachers do more to inform the public?

One of the first lessons I learned as a school leader was that I could not personally care for every student each day. The best way to care for students was to invest in and support the teachers and staff who serve them daily. @SteeleThoughts

If you had to eat one daily meal at Cincy restaurant every day of your life, what place are you choosing?

@MatRyanELATeach I adore Gatsby. Loved teaching it. Plan to continue reading it for myself in my retirement (which begins Friday!). 😄 But where is Huck Finn???

Do better, @Hyatt Front desk insinuated that it was fresh blood, but I can assure you, it was not. So, unchanged bed linens AND accused of lying. So frustrating. Do better.

When I was in school, a "B+" was a 92 and an "A-" was a 93-95. What was considered an A when you were in school?

@sage_stage Perhaps you should be reflecting on how you could better engage your students.

It's almost May. I have a student I've never met. She's never in school first period. A few weeks ago they shuffled her schedule so I have her later in the day. Still never met her, still on the roster. I've touched base with parents. Today an admin asked me to try and develop a relationship with her.

@NowOminus @MrDude079 There's no context in the world that excuses kicking a CHILD. She kicked her. Someone's baby. In school. Fire, then prosecute. Horrible horrible human being.

@MrDude079 I need way more context? Where's the audio? That didn't seem as crazy as the title made it.she should be fired because its not her child& its a child. But kid was obviously up to no good, not listening&acting out. IsThisKidDisabled? Is there more?Context IsAlwaysNeeded imo

We have a new attendance incentive this quarter, for teachers. Show up on time every day Monday to Friday, don't leave early, attend the weekly meeting, and a random name or two will get drawn randomly to allow you to leave an hour and a half early on Friday.
