We are slowly being squeezed out of X, shut down on Facebook and Instagram, and increasingly pushed into algorithmic darkness for covering uncomfortable realities from Ukraine. People keep talking about “free speech” in America, yet independent journalists, war reporters and frontline voices are constantly throttled, restricted or demonetised with little explanation and even less transparency. “Appeal the decision.” Appeal what exactly? @gryn_a Labas. Don't get too wound up about this. Eurovision today is rarely won on merit. We in the UK are well used to NUL points. It is now a spectacle that is there for fun and ridiculous costumes, hairstyles, make up, and somewhat questionable narcissistic overtones, but not merit.

This year's Latvian 🇱🇻 singer in Eurovision reminded me of ours in 1999. It was only the 2nd time we participated (first time we ended up last with 0 votes), and this song ended up 20th out of 24 countries. It's sung in the Samogitian dialoct of Lithuanian 🇱🇹 language. (1/2)
