He then shifted responsibility back onto Ashley Bloomfield. Hipkins went on to claim that the decision not to make the CV-TAG advice public (speak openly about it) was not his. The press gallery now has an open goal: Simply ask Hipkins whose decision it was within government not to publicly discuss the CV-TAG advice. This is getting much worse.

My point exactly. I have discussed this with a lot of people over the last couple of weeks and once they understand that currently anything undersize is just wasted by dumping then they have a different attitude to what has been pushed hard by those opposing the bill change. Recreational fishermen have a choice when they land a fish as to risk keeping it if it’s undersize , and break the law etc, or throw it back while it’s alive. Commercial boats haul in their net and those undersize fish are dead before they can sort them to return them alive. The result is dumping of dead fish. To allow them to keep and sell those wasted fish surely contributes to the viability of running that boat and contributing to the food chain. It would have to included in their quota weight catch figures of course but it would stop the current wastage. Either way the bill change would not have affected fish stocks apart from ensuring that quota is met quicker.

The email was about a new assessment tool for students in Years 3 to 10, which tracked their progress in reading, writing and maths - something Labour hadn't previously thought might be a good idea 🙄. But as Ginny peppered Erica lame gotcha questions, it gave an opportunity for @winstonpeters to ask about the PIJF bribe to media, @dbseymour the opportunity to ask about getting Inspector Clouseau to investigate this 'major crime', and @NicolaWillisMP to ask whether parents were more interested in the assessment of their children OR who authorised an email😂 Quality stuff from the opposition!
