Today, I delivered a condolence message from H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni to the families of the people who lost their lives when a canoe they were travelling in capsized on River Nguse in Kagadi District on Tuesday.
The victims were returning to Pacwa Town Council from Bugoma Central Forest Reserve. The canoe was also carrying bags of charcoal.
The exact number of people who were on board is not yet known, but some reports estimate it at around 30.
I have directed all relevant institutions to stop anyone engaged in illegal activities in Bugoma as we finalise the process of transferring management of the forest from the National Forestry Authority to the Uganda Wildlife Authority and converting it into a national park.

#LabourDay || Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ||
Peace is the foundation upon which progress is built, the growth of over 5,000 factories is a direct result of the stability Uganda continues to enjoy.
Without peace, there is no investment, no production, and no meaningful development. It is peace that allows businesses to thrive, farmers to produce, and citizens to work toward a better future.
Let us continue to safeguard this peace through discipline, unity, and responsible choices, because a peaceful nation is a prosperous nation. ||
