नमामि गंगे का प्रयास अब जनवाणी बनता जा रहा है। उत्तर प्रदेश के गाज़ीपुर निवासी अनमोल कुमार बताते हैं कि वे हर मंगलवार संकटमोचन के दर्शन के लिए बनारस आते हैं। उनके अनुसार, अब गंगा स्नान का अनुभव पहले से बिल्कुल अलग और अधिक सुखद हो गया है। जहाँ पहले गंगा किनारे पान-गुटखा और पूजा सामग्री का कचरा दिखाई देता था, वहीं अब लोग जागरूक होकर इन्हें डस्टबिन में डालते नज़र आते हैं। घाटों पर नियमित सफाई, सफाई कर्मचारियों की सक्रियता, बोट वाली गाड़ियाँ और एम्बुलेंस की उपलब्धता ने व्यवस्था को और बेहतर बनाया है। आज गंगा घाटों पर लोग न केवल सुरक्षित महसूस करते हैं, बल्कि इस बदलाव से संतुष्टि और गर्व भी अनुभव करते हैं। नमामि गंगे का यह प्रयास अब लोगों की आवाज़ और जनभागीदारी की मिसाल बनता जा रहा है। #NamamiGange #CleanGanga #SwachhBharat #RiverConservation #PeopleForGanga

सेमल। वितरण (Distribution): यह प्रजाति पूरे भारत में व्यापक रूप से पाई जाती है। जैव-भौगोलिक क्षेत्र (Biogeographic Provinces): गँगा के ऊपरी और निचले मैदानी क्षेत्र (7ए और 7बी) स्वरूप (Habit): पर्णपाती वृक्ष (Deciduous tree) आवास (Habitat): यह प्रजाति सामान्यतः नदियों और नालों के किनारे पाई जाती है। इसे गहरी, उपजाऊ और अच्छी जल-निकासी वाली मिट्टी पसंद होती है। फूलने-फलने का समय (Phenology): फूल: जनवरी – मार्च फल: अप्रैल – मई पारिस्थितिक भूमिका (Ecological role): यह वृक्ष मिट्टी के कटाव को रोकने में मदद करता है क्योंकि इसके छोटे पौधे जड़ों से नए पौधे (suckers) पैदा करते हैं। यह देशज वनों के पुनर्स्थापन (restoration) के लिए एक अग्रणी (pioneer) प्रजाति है। इसके फूल और फल कई जीव-जंतुओं का भोजन होते हैं। स्थानीय उपयोग (Local usage): इसके बीजों के रेशे, जिन्हें ‘रेशमी रूई’ (silk cotton) कहा जाता है, तकिए और गद्दों में भरने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं। पौधे के विभिन्न हिस्सों का उपयोग औषधीय उद्देश्यों के लिए किया जाता है। इसकी लकड़ी का प्रयोग डोंगी (canoe) और हल्की नावें बनाने में किया जाता है। #SemalTree #SilkCottonTree #RiverineEcosystem #BiodiversityIndia #NativeSpecies

Dr. Anadi Gayen, Regional Director (CGWB, NR, Lucknow), led a high-level technical visit to MNNIT Prayagraj. Accompanied by Shri S.K. Swaroop (Sc-D), Sh. Vidya Bhooshan (AHG), & Sh. Mukesh Anand (Sc-C, SUO Prayagraj), the team reviewed the progress of a Special Study on Fluoride Contamination in the Sonbhadra district taken up under the MoU signed between CGWB, NR, Lucknow, and MNNIT Prayagraj. The progress review of the study was discussed, and it was suggested by RD-NR to work out a depth-wise fluoride contamination scenario along with a detailed analysis regarding the impacts on the health of local people. In a series of meetings RD-NR also met with Dean R&D MNNIT Prayagraj to discuss the future scope of MoU, which needs to be signed up for a collaborative technical approach on resolving source sustainability issues in OE blocks of Agra and Mahoba districts. The day ended up with visiting flow TEM work, the Yamuna, which was carried out by the team of IIT BHU in the Yamuna River near Gau Ghat, Prayagraj.
