From Harlem to Brooklyn, Buffalo to Rochester — Black communities across New York State have shaped culture, creativity, and connection for generations. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Black History Week, the foundation of today’s Black History Month. To honor that legacy, we’re sharing a week of posts celebrating historic neighborhoods around New York State and the housing investments that help families stay rooted, communities stay strong, and futures grow. From Oct 21-23, #NLIHC hosted a group of over 40 researchers and community-based organizations to participate in an in-person convening of the Disaster Housing Recovery Research Consortium.
