Best win I’ve ever had as a punter 🏆 2019 NRL Top Try Scorer — Maika Sivo Idea came from a mate (mate that lost the 20 legga) We did the homework. Then went all in. Biggest hurdles: • Would Brad Arthur pick him Round 1? All signs said yes. • There was no market — we literally rang books and asked them to price it. He opened 150/1. We piled in: 150s, 130s… even grabbed some around ~25/1 during the season, we didn't need to stake that much! Came down to the final round: Parramatta Eels vs Manly Sivo was 1 try behind Ken Maumalo. We booked 12 tickets at the Cumberland Lounge, shouted a bunch of our tradies along. Confidence high… then halftime hits — no Sivo tries. Second half? 💥 Hat-trick. Game over....was an awesome night (man I drank some beer) Between us we cleaned up around ~$70k. I lost $1500 covering a Maumalo hat-trick hedge against the Raiders (never happened)… Who's your 2026 top try scorer? #NRL #NRLBetting #Punters #BackyardBets #LongOdds

Andrew Webster has the Warriors bigger than ever and challenging Union in New Zealand. Off the field, the Wahs feel bigger than a footy team. On it, they’re boring as batshit. It's bizarre - but somehow, it all works. open.substack.com/pub/mikemeehal…

Round 16, 2025. Rabbitohs down to the bare bones against the Storm. Battered by injuries, written off by everyone, yet somehow they push Melbourne all the way to golden point. And Jai Arrow played his heart out for the full 80. Huge defensive efforts. Massive carries. A try-saving tackle to keep Souths alive. The type of performance that summed up his entire 2025 season. Then comes the ending. Papenhuyzen field goal. Game over. After the siren, Arrow was absolutely gutted. No handshakes. He stormed straight off the field, kicked over a bench seat on the way to the sheds, and later admitted it was a “bit of a hissy fit” caused by pure disappointment. Some people hated the reaction. Honestly? I loved it. Not because of the bench kick or the no handshakes — but because you could see how much the game genuinely meant to him. It wasn’t fake passion or robotic “good game brother” stuff five seconds after a heartbreaking loss. It was raw emotion from someone who had emptied the tank for his club. Looking back now, it hits even harder. Arrow played every single game in 2025 despite his own shoulder issues, carried a depleted Souths pack all year and won the George Piggins Medal as the club’s best and fairest. That moment after the Storm loss captured exactly who he was as a player: tough, emotional, passionate and willing to give absolutely everything for the jersey. Now he’s facing a far bigger fight than footy. ❤️

Bulldogs GM Phil Gould has admitted the Bulldogs are struggling in the midst of their losing slump and has said there are "internal reasons" for this. He also took aim at the media for leaking his meeting with unwanted Titans hooker Sam Verrills, calling them "morons" on 100% Footy.
