I avoided listening to that press conference because I anticipated what was coming. They have succeeded to take General Masemola down. They are rejoicing, but they have not won until they take General Mkhwanazi down. I listened only now in the evening to the President's speech. He was in high spirits, joking nicely with Journalists, as if the country is not facing a pandemic of crime. Just yesterday, a whole family of seven was killed in KZN! I noted him saying they are undertaking vetting processes for Police Officers as part of the transformation process they will be embarking on. This is the strategy I believe, is intended to get General Mkhwanazi. That IDAC has frivolous cases they have parked in the shelf against him, to pull them at the right time. That time could be near. It is the same cases they have used to deny him Security Clearance over the years, up to now. It will be interesting to know who is overseeing the vetting process at Crime Intelligence. The very same General Khan who General Mkhwanazi has complained about so much, who, according to Mkhwanazi, he himself is not vetted. I'm angry. But we still put our hope in General Mkhwanazi and the #MadlangaCommission. All these evil people, their time will come, we know they ALL have smallernyana skeletons in their closet, as their conrade once said. Mkhwanazi must stand firm, and investigate their thuggery, work day and night and arrest of them. Evil people. 😏 Don't lose heart General, we are behind you.

He was reportedly on his way to meet a source regarding this case when he was killed.

UPDATE | Police were initially alerted to a house robbery onTuesday night.  By the next morning, the kidnapping was confirmed after a domestic worker arrived and found no one home. The matter was handled by Newark SAPS detectives, KwaDukuza SAPS detectives, KwaDukuza TRT, Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Provincial Counter-Intelligence Kidnapping Task Team,  SAPS Crime Intelligence and private security partners from IPSS, Elite, Hawks and Extreme. This collaboration yielded results in a matter of hours.   Three suspects were arrested in Mandeni last night, with one gun seized. All are in their twenties. During the early hours of this morning, all the victims bodies were located. The youngest woman - 20-years-old - was allegedly raped at the house before the family was tied up and forced into their van to take the two-hour trip to their deaths. There, she was raped again.
