Today around 3:45pm, at the location of Azure Bridge over the I-11. A State Trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol was able to escort some geese and their goslings(babies), off the roadway safely. A Clark County School District Police officer K-9 unit also assisted this Trooper with putting these geese into a cage to transport safely to Floyd Lamb Park. Both the Geese and Goslings were released at the Park without further danger or any injuries.

Today, the Nevada State Police joined law enforcement agencies from across Nevada at the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Carson City to honor and remember the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our communities.

#HeroesNight Please come out this evening to support our Moapa Valley local first responders for the 2026 “Heroes Night Out” located at the Clark County Fairgrounds. This event will start at 5:30pm and will go until 8:30pm. There will be a show down that features Police vs Fire in a Tug-of-War contest and many more activities this evening. There will also be jump houses for the kids, food and raffles. Come out and enjoy the fun!

#NHPMotors On Thursday April 23, 2026, NHP State Trooper Gerardo Carrizal Jr., graduated from the LVMPD Traffic Bureau’s Motor School. This graduation was held at the Desert Breeze Community Center with many of our Command staff being present for this ceremony. This motor school teaches advanced motorcycle skills and techniques to every future Motor Officer. Every Motor Officer must pass a very demanding and rigorous 120 hour course to graduate and every Motor Officer must be re-certified every six months. Congratulations Trooper Carrizal Jr., on becoming one of our NHP Traffic Motor Officers. Job well done
