Cute, but they neglect to mention NYPD cars come with: •bite marks on the steering wheel •fans that blow hot in the summer, cold in the winter •lights and sirens that don’t work (no big deal for police car) •carbon monoxide warning detectors (seriously, look that one up)

@NYCPBASOS What was created to be an elite unit has become nothing more than a glorified impact. Morale is horrible and everyone wants out

Jessica Tisch: Police Resource Extraordinaire Less than a month after a terrorist attack at Gracie Mansion, Tisch has more Counterterrorism cops going to Mobile Field Force(the department’s dirty secret to fake more police presence) than performing their daily CT assignments.

@esq_sanders @TheSalGreco @j_stern97 Looks like as he was literally biting the officer, this upstanding citizen exposed the officer’s white socks. Make sure to give the officer a command discipline for the uniform violation.

These officers are seriously out of line. The Department does not train officers to use force that way. Once the person was in handcuffs, the legal basis for continued force was largely gone. Once that person was kept prone, the risk escalated further because now you have the added danger of prone asphyxia. And pressing his head onto a concrete sidewalk only deepens the exposure. That is not controlled policing. That is force being applied to a restrained and vulnerable person after the legal justification has collapsed. If the facts hold, this has criminal exposure and termination written all over it, and not for just one officer. There is nothing lawful about using force on a handcuffed person who is pinned prone, no longer presenting an immediate threat, and being driven into concrete. The Department now has a choice. It can treat this like a messaging problem, or it can confront it for what it appears to be: potential criminal conduct, termination-level misconduct, and a profound failure of judgment and supervision.

This recent video is circulating on Tik Tok. This is WHAT NOT TO DO to someone who is securely handcuffed. Once they are handcuffed, the battle is over. Actions like this ERODES the public’s trust in the police. What the hell was this NYPD officer thinking?

The reason cops are leaving, is under Chell’s drunken leadership, the quality of life for cops cratered. Disrespect from management, last minute cancelling of regular days off, long tours with short turnaround, all symptoms of the shit leadership we endured under John Chell.
John M Chell@JohnMChell

There is one person that can swoop in, slow this down, and be the hero. @GovKathyHochul with a stroke of a pen can eliminate Pension Tiers 2A/3 and go back to Tier 2. The governor recently worked with @pba on other meaningful financial incentives and now is the time to course correct on this. Governor Hochul @NYPDnews needs the you in this moment - @NYCMayor does not support them. Thank you.

If you are riding a bicycle, you can simply say you don’t have ID, give a name that’s totally definitely not fake, and forget about the summons because your privileges to operate a bicycle can never be suspended.
Gersh Kuntzman@GershKuntzman

And before everyone starts freaking out—remember, this is about the end of CRIMINAL tix against cyclists. Cops can still—and will still—write traffic tix to bike riders. A red light ticket will cost bike riders the same $190 as a car driver, despite the big difference in threat.

“It’s not rocket science” But we are also never going to reduce overtime because nobody respects the city council.
Joe Anuta@joeanuta

“It’s not rocket science” @NYPDPC says of reducing pd overtime. True, but it’s certainly some kind of science bc reducing it’s eluded the city for years & the dept is still on track to exceed its OT budget by $400M this fiscal year (though that’s slightly better than years’ past)

No shit, the department purposely tanked the 12 hour tour implementation and the union let it happen.
Joe Anuta@joeanuta

.@NYPDPC says the implementation of 12-hr shifts for officers was not rolled out well and contributes to burnout that is driving some officers off the force. This shift was negotiated in a ‘23 contract between city hall and the rank-and-file union to give officers more days off

Transit executives fail to manage their resources. Other units must send their cops to transit for coverage. Those units call in other cops, on forced overtime, to cover the unit’s assignments. Budget continues to bloat. Jessica Tisch hailed as excellent manager.

The Queens District Attorney needs to take a hard look at this case [NYPD Captain Kai Bowen]. @QueensDAKatz @NYPDNews There appear to be serious legal problems embedded in both the investigation and the arrest. Too often, the department acts as though officers surrender their constitutional protections the moment they take the oath. They do not. A badge is not a waiver of due process, and rank should not make it easier to ignore defects in the process. Queens should examine this case carefully and without institutional deference.

I wouldn’t hire someone who lied about shooting someone in the back, killing them. I wouldn’t hire someone who faked a disability pension, to rip off the tax payer. I wouldn’t hire someone who stayed in the corrupt Eric Adams administration. But to each their own

The young people whose minds have been polluted by extreme liberal ideologies in our college institutions. The young people who only want to work 4 days a week. The young people who majored in the melting habits of ice glaciers and now think they deserves a job for 250k. The young people whose were told 9th place is a good thing. I wouldn’t hire this young people to run a lemonade stand…..
