@NYC_DOT Are people biking to the World Cup games in NJ?

The bike lane that helped transform Sixth Avenue is getting even bigger. 🚴‍♂️🌎   Ahead of the World Cup, we’re widening the protected bike lane (14th St-31st St) from 6 feet to 10 feet to improve safety and create a calmer, more comfortable ride through Midtown.

@NYGovPress Putting kids full names out on the social platform is crazy but not surprising from Hochul’s press office. I hope you have a waiver from parents authorizing you to broadcast personal information of a minor.

Incredible they would do this in a residential area creating chaos. Most don’t even live here - lead paid activist lives in crown heights. This is performative nonsense at its finest. Get paid lobbyists out of government. @NYC_DOT is nothing more than lobbyist.

Today's "Spring Community Ride for Safety" on NYC's 72nd Street was a joyous occasion. Lots of kids, families & community members #bikenyc thanking @NYCMayorsOffice @NYC_DOT for the new plans to make the corridor a safe, comfortable place for all people! @bfurnas @TransAltBX_Up @TransAlt @SwiftySanders @StreetopiaUWS @MarkGortonNYC @chabot_jackson @kencoughlin @NYC_SafeStreets @KathyParkPrice @StreetsblogNYC @galeabrewer @LindaBRosenthal @Komanoff

@AlexisMcAdamsTV @nycgov That’s not how it works. First you have to report it. Then the TikTok mayor will assemble his filming crew. They will brag about sewer socialism and how he constantly gets things done. Rinse and repeat while everything crumbles.

@MerriweatherB10 @StreetsblogNYC That’s the next step in their agenda- complaining that it’s a health hazard to be eating next to the traffic and lobbing to remove cars where there is outdoor restaurant seating.

@LincolnRestler Biking cannot be equated to mass transit. It should absolutely cost more. P.S. introduce a bill to license bikers and require them to carry liability insurance.

We’ve all been there: you’re late, but the Citi Bike won’t unlock. We’ve got a fix for that. This is the Citi Bike Hack you’ve been waiting for. PS: this bike ride shouldn’t cost more than a subway or bus ride — and we’ve got a bill for that.

@bfurnas The Bergen/Dean plan has nothing to do with car speeds. Ever since the atrocious redesign of Court St, the traffic is backed up for blocks from Court St down to 3rd Ave. The cars are barely even moving. It will be shit show with a bike boulevard.

@PIX11News @gregmocker But NYC TikTok mayor is more concerned about taking streets away from cars and making “open streets”. At least half of the existing fields, courts and playgrounds are in disrepair.

@LincolnRestler Lincoln , are you paying your nanny $5400 a month? This is $64,800 yearly. Look at what NYC DOE pays educated certified teachers. You are so out of touch.

Nannies do such important and difficult work, and they deserve to be paid $30 an hour. Proud to organize with the Carroll Gardens Association to advocate for better wages for nannies.

@OpenPlans NYC is not even capable of upkeep of their current parks for recreation. Go take a look at tennis courts and ball fields in this area. Every other park is poorly maintained. The parks and playgrounds must be fixed and properly maintained for children, families and neighbors.

@KathyParkPrice Looks like safe and respectful sharing of the road. The car slowed down to allow the bike with the parent to pass. Except that one in the front who didn’t check and weaved into the road. Those probably need to be kept behind barriers for everyone’s safety.

A moment of family biking on Dean St, this parent has a kid in a cargo bike and an older kid on their own bike and they’re navigating street design that prioritizes cars. Can’t wait for families and everyone (on foot + drivers) to be able to travel safety on the this corridor.

How are we celebrating Bike & Roll to School Day? With a new bike boulevard on Bergen & Dean Streets. Bike boulevards are low-traffic streets designed to make walking and biking safer and more comfortable for students and families while maintaining local vehicle traffic.

Lower Manhattan's pedestrian volumes are some of the highest in the city, but the streets are still designed almost exclusively for cars, sidewalks included... This study shows how critical it is to transform these streets into people-first public spaces! myemail.constantcontact.com/Street-Smarts.…

The past three years were the hottest three years in recorded history. The past eleven years were the hottest eleven years in recorded history. Trump thinks climate change is a “hoax.” He is dangerously wrong. We must break our addiction to fossil fuels and save the planet.

Green Wave signal timing works! That’s why @NYC_DOT is expanding it. On Manhattan’s Third Ave, it improved safety, reduced cyclist red light running, and had no impact on daytime travel speeds for drivers. More: nydailynews.com/2026/05/07/cha…

Been seeing so many anti-everything people saying it's impossible for @NYC_DOT to put #Bikenyc Blvds on Bergen Street because buses run on it. Solution: in London inside LTN's (essentially bike blvds) there are "Bus Gates" which allow safe biking, bus & local access. We need Low Traffic Neighborhoods in NYC. Why not start here? @StreetsblogNYC @OpenPlans @TransAlt @NYCMayorsOffice @dmjuliakerson @OsseChi @BergenBikeBus @saraklind
