Will $TON Become the Next Hub for MEMECOINS ?
🧵 Let's explore the early 100x opportunity.
First, let's understand where TON stands in the meme coin saga.
SOLANA:
Daily Volume: $7 Billion+
Daily Transaction Count: 23 Million+
Top DEX (Raydium) Daily Volume: $6 Billion+
Non-Zero Wallet Count: 290 Million
TON:
Daily Volume: $40 Million+
Daily Transaction Count: 100K to 200K
Top DEX (STONFi) Daily Volume: $23 Million+
Non-Zero Wallet Count: 100 Million+

From the data above, you can clearly see that TON has a solid user base but is still far behind Solana in terms of volume and transactions.
So, why is that ?
To answer this, we need to understand the user onboarding processes for both chains:

This is why there's a gap in volumes and transactions between SOLANA and TON.
Now, let's dive into the main question :)
Will TON Become the Next SOL for Memecoins?
Let’s understand Solana’s history for context :-
In December 2022 - Solana’s daily volume was only $20 million, but then $BONK was born.
The entire Solana ecosystem supported this meme coin, which gained attention as ETH was expensive and the market was bearish. So people saw opportunity in SOLANA memecoins.
But the real fun began in January 2024 with the launch of @pumpdotfun :) which solved one of the biggest problems for meme coins—Rugpull
Let me explain:
In traditional meme coin launches, when the a memecoin hits a certain market cap or dev made enough money then they often remove liquidity, leaving traders stuck with tokens they can’t sell.
Launchpads like @pumpdotfun solve this by setting a market cap threshold. Once it reached there then liquidity is deposited to the Solana decentralized exchange Raydium and burned. Yes, the price may drop 99% but the dev can’t rug.

SOLANA Daily Volume: Consistently crossed $5 Billion+
Can TON do the same?
@ton_blockchain and @TONmemelandia are working hard to make this happen.
Two projects with over 80 Million+ users have already launched their meme launchpads:
1- @blumcrypto
2- @pocket_fi
Notable names have launched or are supporting meme coins on $TON :
@ikardanoff – $TVM ($700K MC)
@storm_trade_ton – $LIQUID ($300K MC)
@becometa – $DRAGO & $MULB
@MasterCheforg – $SW
Even @blumcrypto is interacting with TON meme coins like @dk_blum
Due to this push, we’ve seen a 5x to 10x increase in volume on $TON, but this isn’t enough to bring in retail traders.
Here are some issues I think are holding TON back:
1- Blum & Pocketfi should separate the memepad from the main bot or create a backup bot.
Because with such large user bases, their bots take too long to load, and timing is crucial in meme coin trading.
2- Lack of Understanding : Many users onboarded through Tap Tap don’t know how to swap tokens or make cross-chain transactions.
3- TON Transaction Fees: Transactions cost between 0.08 and 0.3 $TON ( which is relatively expensive )
4 - Bad Supply Distribution : Recent meme coin launches are not BIG Success because, the top 5 or 10 holders control 40-50% of the supply and eventually will eat retailers money.
5 - Bad Image Due to Tap Tap Airdrops led to a lack of trust within the community.
6- No Airdrop Incentives from DeFi Projects
Solutions IMO:
1- Blum & Pocketfi should launch a backup bot for memepads to speed up the process.
2 - Educate the Community : There needs to be more education on DeFi and how things work on-chain.
3 - Official handles or Big Names should avoid intracting with bad meme coins, as this leads to a loss of trust among users.
4 - Push Organic Memecoins : Focus on building and pushing organic meme coins to create FOMO. This worked for Solana with $BONK.
Until one or two organic meme coins spark excitement, new users may not come.
5 - DeFi projects should do surprise airdrops to draw in more DeFi enthusiasts.
6- @ton_blockchain should stay away from Tap Tap projects that aren’t creating real value, as they risk increasing discontent within the community for the enitre ecosystem.
