The voice of the people has reverberated from every part of our great state, and the message is clear. I am deeply humbled by the scale of this victory. Securing a clean sweep across all 16 local government areas, and 85% of the popular vote is a humbling vote of confidence from Ekiti Kete. From our urban centers to our most remote communities, you have spoken with one thunderous voice for continuous development, stability, and a future of endless opportunities. This mandate means that our work must touch every household even deeper. There are no winners or losers today, there is only one united Ekiti determined to continue its journey of upward mobility. I pledge to honor this immense trust by continuing to lead with humility, dedication and fairness. Thank you, Ekiti Kete, for making history with us. #EkitiWinsTogether

I had the same story that they brought strangers into the state. The election was heavily compromised. APC as a party must die for Nigeria to survive. The country is sinking.

@aleeygiwa It will only take God's grace for this country to have a complete 360-degree turnaround with people like you in the police force. Your men were collecting money from a government official where I voted today. So pained I wasn't wearing a body camera.

Allegations of vote buying are serious and should not be based solely on a photograph. The image shows police officers at a polling unit carrying out their constitutional duty of maintaining security. If there is evidence that any officer aided electoral malpractice, such evidence should be presented for investigation. Facts strengthen democracy and assumptions weaken it.

Oluyede Campaign Calls for Investigation into Alleged Vote-Buying and PVC Misuse in Ado-Ekiti The Dr. Oluwole Oluyede Campaign Organization has received reports from concerned residents alleging ongoing attempts to induce voters and compromise the integrity of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State. According to information made available to the campaign, certain individuals are allegedly moving around parts of Ado-Ekiti canvassing support for a scheme involving the unlawful use of voter credentials and monetary inducements. These claims remain unverified, but their seriousness warrants immediate investigation by the relevant authorities. The campaign is particularly concerned by allegations that unclaimed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) may be targeted for illegal electoral purposes. We urge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately clarify the status and security of all uncollected PVCs in the state and reassure the public that adequate safeguards are in place to prevent any abuse. We call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), election observers, and civil society organizations to closely monitor developments across Ado-Ekiti and other parts of the state. The credibility of the electoral process must be protected at all times. Any individual or group found engaging in vote-buying, voter inducement, electoral fraud, or any act capable of undermining democracy should be investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law. The people of Ekiti State deserve a peaceful, transparent, free, and fair election, and all stakeholders must work together to safeguard the sanctity of the ballot. Signed Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe Director-General Dr. Oluwole Oluyede Campaign Organization June 19, 2026

FACT-CHECK: Claims of PVC Sharing in Ekiti is Baseless, BVAS Makes Proxy Voting Impossible One Mr. Isaac Fayose, in a viral video, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) handed over uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be distributed to non-indigenes for voting in today’s Ekiti State Governorship Election. This baseless claim displays a fundamental ignorance of how elections are conducted in modern Nigeria and it was a calculated attempt to mislead the public with sensationalised untruths. The claim that anyone can take another person’s PVC, walk into a polling unit, and cast a ballot is completely impossible under our current laws and technology. The era of proxy voting, ghost voters, and arbitrary thumbprinting ended the moment INEC institutionalised hardware-level identity verification. A voter’s card is useless in the hands of an impostor. It does not matter if a political party has a million uncollected cards; those cards cannot be used to manipulate the ballot because a piece of plastic alone does not grant access to a ballot paper. For the avoidance of doubt, the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is the absolute gatekeeper of the polling unit. The voting process today requires a strict two-stage biometric verification: the device must successfully scan your unique fingerprint or authenticate your facial features against the live database before the ad-hoc staff can legally issue a ballot paper. If the biometrics do not match the unique identity embedded on that specific PVC, the BVAS will reject the bearer, and the individual cannot vote. No human intervention can bypass this hardware lock. Furthermore, all uncollected PVCs from the just-concluded collection exercise in Ekiti State have been securely retrieved, accounted for, and kept under lock and key at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where they will remain safely stored until the election is fully concluded. "We urge the public to completely disregard these phantom narratives, which are clearly designed to cause unnecessary panic and undermine public confidence. INEC remains a completely neutral umpire, our technology is secure, and we assure the people of Ekiti State that only valid voters who are physically accredited by the BVAS will determine the outcome of today's election,' a senior official of the Commission, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said.

@JideAluko @ruffydfire Are votes not bought? I witnessed top government official giving mints to the security officers where I voted today. This picture is one evidence of such.

@Naija_Go_Beta @ruffydfire “…officials are allegedly writing numbers in favour of the ruling party.” Trained journalists don’t just put stuff out there. They verify before they do. Their reports are not based on “IF TRUE.”

#ekiti BVAS is not functioning, yet manual voting is being conducted while the officials are allegedly writing numbers in favour of the ruling Party . This raises serious concerns about the credibility and transparency of the electoral process. This is unacceptable and amounts to electoral fraud if true. Relevant authorities, election observers, and security agencies should urgently investigate and ensure that every vote counts according to the law.

@ruffydfire At the time you posted this, nowhere in Ekiti had vote counting started. In fact, people were still voting. The least expected of a presenter who screams “empirical evidence” at the slightest prompting is to embark on fact-finding journalism to the state to buttress their claims.
