A man who wants to be president of Nigeria, built a university in Nigeria and named it "The American University of Nigeria" Someone who wants to lead Nigeria should build institutions that project Nigerian confidence. If your biggest university project in Nigeria carries the name of another country, it simply means you do not believe in the Nigerian identity that you want to lead. True Nigerian leaders should promote Nigerian excellence. The NYSC was established in 1973. The uniforms and other kits, including caps, were imported then from China and were of very good quality. The uniforms from China were last worn by the 1986 or 1987 set. Tinubu, we were told, graduated from Chicago State University in 1979, which was six years after the establishment of the NYSC scheme. What this means is that if Tinubu participated in the scheme, he would have worn the uniforms, including the caps imported from China. I don't think anybody should be surprised. With Tinubu, anything is possible. The only man in the history of the world who attended a school two years before the school was established. If that can happen, he can also wear the NYSC uniforms produced in Nigeria long before they were introduced. A fi suru.
