@CraigJoseph Interesting that December to June is being used for admission and hospitalization numbers, prior to paxlovid being routinely available/used and while delta was still in the mix. Wonder how the comparison changes with only March-June data. Regardless, cool use of cosmos!

2/ However CDC has now lumped severe-critical cases in with immunocompromised, saying they should remain in isolation for 20 days from sx onset (previously 28 days for vented and immunocompromised). BTW, all of my hospitalized patients would be considered severe/critical. 🙄

1/ Everyone caring for COVID pts needs to see the CDC’s recent Decision Memo and updates regarding discontinuation of isolation. Notably, for mild-mod cases, replication-competent virus has NOT been recovered after 10 days following symptom onset.

@Johnson4Dallas @CityOfDallas Thanks for the transparency! A much more significant capacity number to track is staffing. How many of those available icu beds are staffed icu beds? We’re running out of doctors (especially critical care), nurses, RTs, etc. well before we’re out of beds.

.@DCHHS reports 1,103 cases and 2 deaths. Today we reached 1,100 new cases for the first time. It took us 92 days to reach 300 cases, 22 days to reach the next 400 more cases at 700 cases and 2 days to reach another 400 cases at 1,100.
