Yes I agree. I think there is some amount of overlap in the two areas. While problem/solution discovery is the primary responsibility in the product sense bucket, if at the time of execution you don't validate both you might end up in a tough spot. An extreme case could be where someone is working on execution and focusing only on delivery. If they're not aware of the earlier steps, they might build and deliver something that is not important any more, or that was incorrectly prioritised, etc. Therefore, it is critical for the person who is executing to be aware of all the steps before delivery. Ideally, they should be the ones doing those steps themslevs.

"Execution" for product managers means doing these 5 things: 1. Problem discovery Identify and target the most important user problem 2. Solution discovery Find the most appropriate solutions to the identified problem 3. Prioritisation Rank the solutions in order of impact 4. Alignment Make everyone agree that above is the best sequence of developing the solutions (for the intended goal) 5. Delivery Making sure that the ideas are developed as intended in the right order.

I asked Midjourney for a selfie of cavemen after inventing fire, it did not disappoint 😂

Am I the only one who starts ChatGPT prompts with “please” and ends with “thank you” in case it eventually becomes sentient?

After 10 years of building consumer social apps, I've decided to start exploring new areas. Building these products is an unforgiving grind—but I learned a lot along the way. For those embarking on this path, here's everything you need to know: TIME FOR A THREAD 👇

The most counterintuitive part of building social networks is that virtually every product decision should be to the benefit of the network, *not* the user. This is fundamentally at odds with human-centered design. For many founders, this means unlearning a lot of things.

@jkdmedia Wasn’t LA trying to be Silicon Beach? Feel like Miami needs something more native.

HBO has to do “Silicon Valley: Miami.” The storylines write themselves. Richard decides to get calf implants, Dinesh develops a frosé app while Jared is stuck in a stall at Liv for a week.

Startup idea: Buy homes from rich people that want to leave SF in Q4 2020 Then sell it back to them in Q4 2021 with a 20% markup when they realize they still want to be productive and not be retired in Miami

@hnshah The best mix: Build without press. Test on audiences that are fragmented but nearly identical. Maximize the number of shots at bat.
