We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert. During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production. However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced, following final work and review by our art and development teams, with work that aligned with our quality standards and creative direction. Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it. We also acknowledge that we should have clearly disclosed our use of AI. While these tools were primarily used during early production, with the expectation that these assets would be replaced prior to release, we recognize that this does not excuse the lack of transparency. We sincerely apologize for these oversights. We are currently conducting a comprehensive audit of all in-game assets and are taking steps to replace any affected content. Updated assets will be rolled out in upcoming patches. In parallel, we are reviewing and strengthening our internal processes to ensure greater transparency and consistency in how we communicate with players moving forward.

@KorolkovArseniy @Grummz The marketing never even painted it as anything else if you paid attention, it turned out exactly as they showed it lol. Some people just somehow decided it was going to be something it was never trying to be.

@Grummz To be fair, I genuinely believe that Crimson Desert is the greatest 7/10 game in the world. I think the marketing team just did too good of a job marketing the game. It was never going to live up to the hype they created, especially with all the glaring issues the game has.

The video was a demonstration of how powerful the different ELEMENTS (i.e. wind, fire, ice, lightning) are. He didn't share the video and say, "hur hur look how fun killing elephants is"

I watched a guy on YouTube beat the Crimson Desert excavation boss in under four minutes. His health bar was twice the size of DSP's. He also had food in his inventory to top up his health when it got low. DSP is useless without yellow paint.

@GamingSinceNES Yea. I put it to 0% first, thinking that it would get rid of the acceleration, as you would expect. But 100% is actually no acceleration.

The single best move I've done in Crimson Desert to have a more responsive feel was to change the Camera Acceleration to 100% 🙃

The hardest puzzle in Crimson Desert is the controls. RPG controls are a solved problem in games, it shouldn't be this awkward. Nearly 6 hours in, finished First part and a bunch of exploring. Feeling pulled in, the world is vast.

@kylegeorg @Grummz I think there is room for more streamlining. But there are so many actions that it realistically will always be complicated to start with.

Small detail from Crimson Desert #1 There is surprisingly a ton of objects that you can destroy in this game and the destruction physics themselves are insanely good!

@Bucky_cm @imakwolf Is there a way to disable the inertia the camera has. It makes the mouse feel quite bad.

@imakwolf Some rebinds are a must, alt for dodge roll is bonkers, but other than that it feels pretty good. To be fair though, I’ve played a fair bit of BDO and other Korean mmos so I’m used to wacky keybindings.

Clocked 7hrs in Crimson Desert today, mostly goofing around not doing the story. This game is made for me. Totally understand all the criticisms, and I agree that the game is not for everyone but… This is my dream game. Loving it. Will update thoughts after the weekend.

Friendly reminder that even if a game doesn't get the highest score from critics, it's not the end of the world. So, if you want to play Crimson Desert, then do it even if it is rated 78. Here are some examples of how the opinion of players and critics can be vastly different.

CRIMSON DESERT starts rough. I honestly disliked the first 8 hrs. Once it opens up and you get more power + abilities, it's a TON of fun. So many gameplay systems but they don't feel cynical or half-baked. I wish there was a better story but combat/exploration hooked me 1/2
