Morning everyone. Do you know that your President just exempted himself, his family, and all his family's companies from our tax laws? You are subject to the law. Now he is not. No one should not pretend this is okay or normal. It's an ongoing constitutional crisis.

Amazon is worth $2 trillion. But it didn't deign to pay the millions of dollars it racked up in unpaid fines as its’ trucks illegally polluted our air and forced New Yorkers to breathe in their exhaust.  
We collected every dollar they owe the people of this city — and will continue to hold them accountable. In New York, corporations are held to the same standard as everyone else.

Today I spoke with families in Hollis, Queens, many of whom say their lives and homes were upended by devastating flooding last night. I also met the city workers and emergency responders who are working around the clock to get this community back up on its feet.  With flooding season here, New York City government is working to keep New Yorkers prepared and safe. I was with our warriors who are receiving treatment and rehabilitation after injuries in one of the medical facilities in the Rivne region. Spoke with the defenders. They defended Ukraine across various areas – the Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipro, and Donetsk regions – and participated in the Kursk operation. I presented the warriors with state awards. Thank you for your service and for defending our country. It is extremely important that we continue developing rehabilitation infrastructure for our veterans. This is about respect for our people. I am grateful to our doctors, resuscitation specialists, and everyone who works every day to ensure our warriors have access to high-quality treatment, recovery, and support.

Trump's budget calls for billions in cuts to lifesaving research, but a $1.5 trillion war budget. I asked Trump's NIH Director how he could justify a budget that puts defense contractors ahead of cancer research. He couldn't. I’m throwing Trump’s budget in the trash.

Kennedy: And Putin was so scared, he almost had to cancel Russia's military parade, didn't he? Gen. Smith: I will take your word for that, sir. Sen. Kennedy: Okay.

Today, in Slavutych, in the north of our country, I met with the heads of communities of the northern regions – Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. It is very important to support our people here and strengthen our defenses, and that is exactly what we are doing. This concerns protective infrastructure – fortifications and other defensive measures – as well as strengthening the border, which will be reinforced further. It also concerns our Defense and Security Forces stationed in this direction – toward Chernihiv and Kyiv from the territory of neighboring Belarus, which Russia is eager to draw deeper into this war, and from Russia’s Bryansk region. We have the capability to strengthen our defenses. We also have the capability to act preventively with regard to Russian territory from which threats may emerge, and with regard to the de facto leadership of Belarus, which must stay on its toes – that is, clearly understand that there will be consequences if aggressive actions against Ukraine, against our people, are taken.

Federal agents at polling places. Voter intimidation. Purges of voter rolls. Donald Trump’s assault on free and fair elections is deliberate, coordinated, and accelerating in plain sight.

We cannot stress this enough:   Republicans want to reward these thugs with YOUR tax dollars.
