Generally, in the synthesis methods that we use at Nanoscientifica Scandinavia AB, the crystal structure of the nanoparticles is tailored through the presence of other #atomic or #molecular #materials that block preferred crystal packing facets.

Synthesis of shaped #nanoparticles generally occurs through so-called ‘bottom-up’ methods, where nanoparticles are structured from atoms. This allows for a high level of precision and control to form specific crystalline packing of the atoms.
