🚨 URGENT Iran’s women’s national football players are in immediate danger. While competing in Australia, several players refused to sing the Islamic Republic’s regime anthem. In response, a host on Iran’s state television (IRIB) publicly declared that refusing the anthem during wartime is treason and said traitors deserve the harshest punishment. In Iran, this is not rhetoric. When state media labels someone a traitor, it often becomes a signal for security forces to arrest, torture, or execute them. Footage also shows players signaling “HELP” in sign language from their team bus as they were leaving the stadium.
