Being a bit of an odd, geeky sort of kid this is the model of Coronation Street I built out of matchsticks when I was 12. It was up in my mum's loft for decades but I rescued it a while back to go on display in my lounge. 47 years later, it's still going strong.

I want to express my gratitude and admiration to @KateBMwriting and all the staff and volunteers, including the wonderful security team, who made today’s @AllianceLGB conference a triumph. We had amazing speakers - some of whom had come from as far afield as Singapore, California, Taiwan and Colombia. We had dozens of young people from the UK and around the world with the energy and determination to fight for LGB rights. I am in awe of all of them. The sexist, homophobic gender identity cult is still strong - but we shall overcome! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@JournalistJill @PaulEmbery The most surprising thing I have learned about her today is that, back in 2023, she was extolling the virtues of going to an all girls school which "made (her) feel more comfortable" and claiming that "women love my stand up". How things have changed!

I usually find Nero d'Avolas pleasantly"jammy" but this Aldi one drinks more like a pinot noir.
I do like it and bought it because I have never had a bad or undrinkable Nero d'Avola.

As I open a bottle of Aldi's Nero d'Avola, my phone pings with a photo memory of me clutching a bottle of Penfold's Grange 1994(?). Some might say "highs & lows" but I don't see it like that. Every bottle of wine is at least interesting & at £8 vs £450, the Aldi comes out OK.
