@NateCarruth @RepJayapal Here’s a fun fact about that millionaire total...a lot of them are just retired and have say a 401k and home and that total equals $1m plus....you expect some retiree to take $50k out of their retirement account to distribute to people?

Just to be clear, these are not “stimulus” checks we are talking about. They are SURVIVAL checks. They would help families—and the economy too—survive.

"how are we going to pay for the stimulus" In the pandemic, total stock value has grown by $16.6 trillion. $8.3 trillion of that went to the richest 1%, and they pay a lower tax rate than those who are unemployed and need help.

Recently, I passed a bill in the Senate to stop sending stimulus checks to dead people, immediately. Now I’m told bill is being watered down to stop paying dead people, but only in THREE years. This is exactly why 90 % of people (including me) disapprove of Congress.
