Usually, I find "they're running too much" discourse pretty bad/shallow. However! The Packers have a run rate over expectation of +10% or more in 4 games this season: v Eagles (L), v Browns (L), v Panthers (L), and v Cowboys (T) MLF simply must get to faster scripts...faster.

My good friend @NateHarker absolutely nailing announcing a Bills pick today. So proud of that “WHATS UP GREEN BAY!!?” That rang over the NFL Network audio despite the pick not being televised.

I expect the Green Bay Packers to be very active in 2025 free agency & veteran spending for 3 reasons: 1⃣ Because they have no priority free agents - their 2021 draft class has no premium players to re-sign. Instead of needing to spend to keep their own guys they will spend elsewhere (see 2019 FAs with their 2015 stinker class). 2⃣ Because they can - Packers have excess cap space to burn for the first time since 2020. We are no longer needing conversations about what moves need to be made to simply get under the cap in March, rather they are $40M in the black heading towards free agency. 3⃣ Because they should - Packers have a financial competitive advantage to exploit coming off 2 years of being the youngest team in the NFL. Their roster is young, cheap, and talented - they have a 2 year window where they can push for a championship before their young core becomes expensive or signs elsewhere.
