I was grocery shopping today and a older man was picking up some items beside me. I noticed after picking up his items he was just standing there looking at me with a blank stare so I asked him “is everything ok?” and he replied with “it’s just these prices”. I kinda chuckled and said “it’s probably going to get worse too”. He didn’t laugh back and just said “I hope not”. I offered him a bit of cash to help him with his groceries but he wouldn’t accept it. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have laughed. A lot of people are struggling right now and it’s got to be extremely stressful. The worst part is I do believe it’s going to get worse.
