Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

It’s so insane to me that you can zoom in on anywhere in Kansas, and every square millimeter is cropped to hell and back. Absorbing diesel, urea, phosphorous. returning corn. Literally inconceivable in scale.

@lostisreed So interesting fact. Seneca, Illinois, which is on the Illinois River that connects to the Mississippi river and Lake Michigan, was actually used to create boats for the D-Day landing. I live near there and there are boats and barges transporting things all the time.

I’ve talked before about the number of former high schools in Illinois that have left their former schools and gyms behind. Today’s #illustriousGyms highlight video is one of those gyms, but this one is a little near and dear towards my heart. It was where I started high school, but after a merger I graduated on the other side of town. #JolietCatholic and its tight and unfriendly confines was a home court advantage many schools dreaded to play in. @SubxNews Kind of an odd spot to claim no one is there. Its 4:30 on a Friday (workday) and you are on Upper Wacker driving away from Michigan Ave. There is lower Wacker below you which is quicker to drive & the people are on the river to your right, or River North/on Michigan behind you.

Austin is great and San Francisco has problems, but picking a fight with San Francisco based on access to outdoor recreation is nuts.
