The Saudis own part of DAZN, which now has multi-year deals with 4 of the 5 leading traditional promoters in the world -- Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom, Queensberry as well as outfits like Salita and MF Sports. Combined, those companies have most of the best talent & champions.

The IBF rule it cited as a reason to strip Opetaia -- well after it had sanctioned the fight, accepted the fee and had supervisor on site -- says it only recognizes WBC, WBA and WBO organizations. But that never stopped the IBF from sanctioning bouts also ivolving the IBO, IBA, WBF titles, for example. But OK, agree to sanction the fight that involves the Zuffa title, which isn't even official yet (at least not until the Ali Act update is signed into law making it literally a trophy belt for now), and then withdraw it after the presser because you're annoyed by how the IBF belt was presented, which happened to be fully on display and integrated into Zuffa's graphics? Horseshit excuse to fuck Opetaia. What changed from when you sanctioned the fight and took the fee? #boxing #OpetaiaGlanton

You obviously need boxers on every broadcast, they are the ones with the expertise and in-ring experience. But every single sport uses journalists and presenters. Only in boxing do you hear these complaints. If there was a broadcast without a single boxer, then I would agree

@SIChrisMannix The sanctioning bodies and fragmentation are the problem and zuffa is going to "fix" boxing... Jan 24th ufc will host a interim title fight between 4 and 5 at lightweight. 1-3 are available and wiling to fight. 1 is asking to fight for the bmf title a made up bs marketing belt.

Zuffa Boxing, understandably, is keeping the focus on the sanctioning bodies, which are rotten. But the key issue with overriding the Ali Act is economic. If a new bill passes, Zuffa doesn’t have to reveal revenue. That’s the primary issue opponents of the bill have.
