Federal regulators were already probing into suspected misconduct in the music industry as evident by the FCC’s ongoing investigation into iHeartMedia. Drake’s lawsuit against UMG Recordings intensified the government’s existing concerns. In legal filings and statements, UMG Recordings continues to fixate on the notion that Drake is “upset about a rap battle loss” to distract the public from the allegations of collusion, payola violations, violations of the RICO act, and violations of New York general business law. Some of which could have criminal implications. Drake’s civil lawsuit accuses UMG Recordings of using illegal and fraudulent means to promote Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, a song which falsely labels Drake a pedophile and registered sex offender. Drake claims UMG did so in an effort to devalue him ahead of his 2025 contract renegotiations. Video courtesy of @newrorynmal

@Akademiks He lowkey has a point. When people feel like their life is over they become overwhelmed by fear, regret, or anger at their situation, and project their pain outward by attacking others. A lot of the time it’s easier to insult someone else than to face your own vulnerability. 💯

Am I the only one seeing though UMG’s bullshit? It’s obvious that since none of the ATL rappers wanted to turn on Drake and back midget man Kendrick, they’re showing us in REAL TIME how EASY it is for them to destroy a rappers career. Which is why if they had ANY damaging dirt on Drake, they would’ve put it out already!
