I decided to ring @samaritans for the first time for support when I was very distressed last night. They spent over half an hour talking to me despite how little I could communicate. I am alive today because of that phonecall. I cannot recommend them or thank them enough! 💚

Being able to take a copy of my book back to @BleasdaleRph ,who rehabilitated me when I was unwell in 2021 with #FND ,was so lovely. Without the staff there I would not be here to share my story today! Endure is now available online and in most major bookstores! ✨️

@JonjayNeedham1 I wrote a book about my own CSA survival and it will be published on Friday. I cannot explain the absolute hell I was put through by the criminal 'justice' system just to get no justice. Things have to change. This lady is a legend! 👏🏼

My opinion as a rape survivor who has been through x2 crown court trials as a victim: I sincerely hope so, but unlikely.👇🏼 'Will Gisèle Pelicot’s courage spell the end of rape victims being put on trial? theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@JonjayNeedham1 Everytime you talk about your brother, you are keeping his memory alive and making sure the same thing doesn't happen to other people. He'd be so proud of you. Keep going 💜

No one should have to visit a loved one in the mortuary after dying from the long term effects of CSA, abuse & neglect. Thats exactly what I had to do in 2022! It was the most difficult thing i've ever done. My dear little brother Jay💙 This is preventable! We can do better!

@ItsEmilyKaty This is how I was as a child too. I think people liked how capable I was of keeping myself occupied so it was never questioned...

When I was young, I didn’t know I was autistic. I read all the time. I read on the way to school and at break times. I read all day. It was my way of escaping a world I found too difficult to process and cope with. Books were my way of putting up a barrier to cope with the world.

@N_spinkxx I know it feels like a lifetime of waiting, and it’s easy for me to say ‘it’s worth the wait’ but honestly man, it’s bizarre just how much you forget the years of longing once you no longer feel it. It’s like time sped up and I was finally alive when my body felt like home ❤️

I'm a victim-survivor & a mental health professional recently told me that I was saying "negative things" about the abuser-perpetrator & the abuser-perpetrator was "not here to defend themselves."

It just goes to show that when doctors listen and take their patients seriously, the appointments can be so much more worthwhile and patients like me won't wait until they the severity of their condition needs hospitalisation to recieve support. #GP #NHS

I've been absolutely amazed today after meeting my new GP. They actually listened, researched my illness, read my notes and took time to make phone calls to chase up gender clinic referrals made years ago. I feel so much more positive about seeing the doctor now when I need to 🙂

If “getting over it” was a viable option for anyone suffering from depression (or any other mental illness), don’t you think they would have done it already? Nobody wants to suffer mentally, and if you’ve been there, you’d understand why.

Recently, a new report found that the UK is among one of the least friendly and least welcoming countries for trans and gender diverse people in the world The Ipsos LGBTQ+ pride 2023 survey highlighted how most British people agree trans people face discrimination in the UK 🧵

By the time a trans person comes out to you, they have already done hours, weeks, and YEARS of research, questioning and soul searching. Don't say "are you sure?" Say "how can I help?"
