Autonomous Robots are huge in the upcoming future. They are the building block on which everything depends. Grok, Optimus, Giga Battery, Neuralink, Tesla FSD are only sections of development that will eventually all end up within the umbrella that will become Optimus. I believe, that for the most part, that Optimus will remain humanoid. As our whole world is developed for the humanoid form, and logically it makes the most sense as it allows one robot to perform as many functions as possible. Specialized robots may show up, but mainly in niche areas. Optimus will be able to do chores, repair your house with supplied materials, first aid, cook, clean, tailor your meals to your health needs and tastes, make the clothes that suit you best and most comfortably. How? Well, think of it like the "learning" area of the movie "The Matrix". Optimus doesnt know a specific task? Just download the learning from the central core, and boom, now Optimus knows how to perfectly sew that new shirt you have wanted for weeks. Apply that to everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. Your home will be completely customized. It will be built FOR YOU TO YOUR WANTS. Not sprawling McMansions either. Right sized that suit all of your needs, and at a luxury level that even the most affluent can only imagine now. It will be all about personalization. Everything. Yes, you can get "whatever" if you arent that worried about style. But remember, a large part of this is predicated on you not working because you will not have too. Large basic income. Meaning you dont need to work if you do not want too. You can spend your days pursuing things that benefit you the human animal, not someone else. Yoga, check. Morning walks, check. Creative time, check. Time to research and study, check. No more worry about making ends meet, how the food will get on the table, or whether you have to deal with Larry at work being an asshole again this week ( Sorry Larry :) ) Your whole existence will be customized to you. Home, yard, transportation, Optimus itself, clothing, food, furniture. How? Well, when there is no human labor involved in collecting and building for anything, then prices dont just drop. They crater. When transportation costs nearly zero because all of our power is being supplied by orbiting solar stations, even the moving of goods pricing drops to virtually zero. I basically work in logistics, and believe me, this is a HUGE amount of what you have to pay for products. Just think how much the price of diesel affects the price of what you pay at the stores... The other major cost is the human time and labor involved. Lets take a simple example to illustrate from the gun world. A 1911 in .45 ACP. You can buy one new from about $350, all the way up into the millions ( Yes, literally, look up Cabot Firearms ). Mechanically they are nearly identical. Yeah there may be some tolerance and sizing differences, but mechanically its still a 1911 based firearm. So why the difference in price? Materials and Labor. Rarer materials, like Damascus, or even Meteorite in the million dollar gun case, are way more expensive than regular forged tool steel or stainless. Damascus is only more expensive because it takes so much work to create it to begin with. But again, remove that human labor issue, and prices start to become similar. Meteorite is still rare, but will be less so in the next 10-20 years as we venture "out there" more. So the only real difference then is the manufacturing tolerances and hand fitting. Again, labor. Remove time and labor as issues, then its just a different metal. Nothing more. So all of a sudden that million dollar prize can be made for no more than the $350 version. Which for the sake of this argument, equals virtually nothing. Apply the above to EVERYTHING. Want natural wood, river rock, stainless and glass for your main interior elements for your house? Done. Want a Tudor interior with whitewash and dark beams? Done. Log interior? Done. Heck, mix and match depending on the room and its use. Done. Lets get into how personal Optimus could potentially get. And by personal, I mean adapted to you specifically. I can even see where Optimus stays in the family and gets passed between generations. Each child growing up with an Optimus that is a teacher and guardian. Learning via Optimus has already been thrown out there by Elon, so we know that is in the works. But what else? How about sensors so acute that they can monitor your body functions and determine your health needs or emergencies, instantly summoning more sophisticated help if needed, or dealing with the situation themselves. Obviously this will all be able to be "tuned" to your personal wishes. Want more involvement? Dial it up, set the expectations. Want almost no involvement except to cook and do laundry? Done. It will be up to YOU to decide how much and why. Again, monitoring your health needs and making sure that the food prepared both suits your taste, but is also healthy for YOU specifically. Want your yard done differently? Design it yourself, or have someone else do it, maybe even AI. Feed all of the information in, and boom. Orders for materials sent, Optimus works at night quietly to get the work done, and in a matter of a few days your yard has a completely new look. Frivolous? Maybe, but certainly possible. Again, apply everything I have said above to EVERY aspect of your life. Eating, sleeping, shopping, driving, living, entertaining guests, whatever.... I am going to toss Neuralink in here too, as I believe that could play a large role in all of this as well. Imagining what you want done, and its done. Paint the picture in your mind in the right way, and boom, Optimus has the information and is off on a task to get it done. Thats it. Want that tree removed and the stump gone? Think it. Want that shirt but in green instead of blue? Think it. Want to get out and see the Rings of Saturn over the weekend? Think it. Believe me, I struggle to fully see and understand all of this myself. Yes, there are pitfalls, one of which is the human need to struggle and strive. Too much "coddling" and we could grow stagnant. Which is precisely why expanding out to other planets and the stars are so high on Elons list. We HAVE to do that, as that will allow humans to continue to grow, learn, adapt, and overcome. Regrettably the best of us will be the ones that take the first steps out to face the struggles of new worlds, and that will drain Earth's brain power to a degree. But I think we are centuries away from that being a problem. And honestly, that is a problem that we can let our great grandchildren's great grandchildren wrestle with. Things will change so much by then that we will not have the proper frame of reference to even understand how to solve it. Some things, only time can fix. I hope that my musing has brought you some semblance of hope and desire to reach this future. Honestly, if Elon ramps up like he is talking, its possible that most of us will live to see it and live it. I didnt even touch on medical innovations, or power innovations, or any of a dozen other phenomenal and individually world changing technologies that are coming down the pike. Add those in, and our future is not just bright. Its Golden
