In France, a Platonic friendship with a woman is considered a far graver form of infidelity than a sexual affair because the French are a civilized people who understand that Platonic love is a higher form of love than mere worship of the flesh
Globe Eye News@GlobeEyeNews

Emmanuel Macron reportedly maintained a platonic relationship with Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani for several months, which allegedly led to Brigitte Macron slapping him.

@facefuklibtards @KingHenryV1386 @derzum_ What a despicable thing to say about a patriot who's earnestly dedicated countless hours to understanding and explaining the mechanics of immigration enforcement. Apologize to Prowler

I was referring to the "sanctuary" thing. We have control of those states as far as immigration is concerned. And yet the numbers are still a joke. You are continuing to make excuses. These numbers are BAD. we are almost halfway through the term with NOTHING to show for it.
Prowler@derzum_

Our two largest red states, Texas and Florida, are over 50% immigrant. We do not have complete control of those states, we didn't have control of Indiana either—hence the removal of RINOs. We need the states to get our work done, pure executive branch dominance only does half.

@Robkearney1981 @NicolausRexPol The Protestant churches in East Germany were never brought under control of the state and, like the Catholic Church in Poland, they played a large role in the dissident protest movements in the 1980s.

@NicolausRexPol @NaturalRightFan True, but did these countries put up as much resistance to being ruled by communism as Catholic ones did? I'm not aware of any movements similar to Solidarity in Poland existing in Eastern Bloc Orthodox nations.

The Russian philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev argued in the 1930s that communism found a fertile soil in Orthodox Russia because the two shared a deep cultural logic. Berdyaev's view was by no means eccentric. The French socialist historian Jules Michelet believed the Russian peasant commune (obshchina) formed the nucleus of an eventual egalitarian "Oriental revolution" against the bourgeois and decadent individualist West. This was the Romantic-Socialist view characteristic of leading leftist intellectuals like Bruno Bauer, Aleksandr Herzen and Élisée Reclus, who saw Russian religious-communal life as worthy of imitation and made polemical use of "Slavic egalitarian" institutions against their liberal opponents.* Is this just an outdated Orientalist "cultural essentialism" that ignores other more important and material factors in the rise of Soviet communism? Or is it possible that everything essential in Soviet communism--worship of authority, collectivism, institutionalized envy, suspicion of individual merit and success--may just be a secularization of already present cultural attitudes in Eastern Orthodox societies? Two economists, Simeon Djankov and Elena Nikolova, set out to validate Berdyaev's hypothesis by examining longitudinal surveys of 100 countries spanning 1995-2014.** What they found is that after the fall of the USSR, Eastern Orthodox believers remain attitudinal outliers compared to Protestants and Catholics, and tend to hold views closer to leftists and, surprisingly, atheists with regards to taxation, redistribution, regulation, creative destruction, role of the state in the economy, etc. * #tocto1n3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">journals.openedition.org/monderusse/869… ** papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

@LancesLegion @camaradamachado I disagree. I think a nation is its people, not its elites. Elites must always establish political legitimacy first and that all depends on the race's ability to discern a just ruler from a despot.

This is a specific trait of Northwestern Germanics (ethnic not religion). Creedal differentials mean nothing, especially because Catholicism is the anti-thesis of all the later points you raised (e.g. era of Absolutism/Catholic countries are known for being stratified nations with strong state power/British Catholics were supporters of Absolutist King Charles I/II etc.). Egalitarianism is the organizational instinct of ALL peasants, a nation is NOT its peasants. It is its elites from whom culture/values/organizational structure is downstream of. Its absurd to make this retarded claim that Slavs are inherently communist because Russian peasants organize this way (peasants are like this universally).

It's not true everywhere to the same degree but I would agree if you think longhouse egalitarianism is the base human organizational instinct. But Catholics and Protestants remain the two outliers globally in respect to their positive attitudes toward individual liberties, free enterprise, limited government and even reception to new ideas.

@Thesis90 Michelet's views on Russia and communism evolved over time. He took a more positive view of Russian communal institutions after his encounter with Herzen. Look at the paper I shared above because it tackles this issue.

@NaturalRightFan You are correct about Berdyayev. But not so on Michelet. He was not by any stretch of the imagination a "socialist" (WTF?), he explicitly said that Russia was ALREADY communist, and he did NOT mean that in a good way. What Michelet actually said: x.com/Thesis90/statu…

@LancesLegion @camaradamachado Soviet citizens voluntarily informed on their neighbors, friends and family to the NKVD/KGB. Enforcing social conformity to official state ideology is textbook worship of state authority.

@NaturalRightFan @camaradamachado They certainly did not worship authority. Everyone knows they hated it, all it was to them was a Cossack who stole their grain and fucked their women. This is all such petty sniping. Absurd take.

Great stuff on how Japanese immigrants to the US, disappointed by racism & taking inspo from US policies, promoted Japan's settler colonialism in Asia. Torajiro Sato, a settler leader in Korea who studied in the US, called for a Japanese "Monroe Doctrine" & "manifest destiny."

Dangers of the Mail, 1937. Frank Mechau's mural installation was commissioned for the newly-built Post Office Department Building in Washington D.C. as part of a New Deal initiative to beauty to public spaces. It represents a scene of an ambush of a stagecoach of mostly White female passengers and graphically depicts their scalping and rape by Native Americans. Anticipating an uproar once the mural was unveiled to the public, Edward Rowan, who had commissioned the mural as assistant director of the Section of Fine Arts, advised Mechau to gather historical evidence supporting the depiction of Native Americans stripping clothing from their victims. Rowan's concern was that the nudity would be offensive to the public. On the day the mural was unveiled, Frank Mechau outdid himself and appeared with historical documents detailing not just recorded instances of Native Americans stripping their victims but Indian scalping techniques and, according to one historian, "Indian preferences in the matter of costuming appropriate for victims". When the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) made the building its headquarters in 2000, its employees embarked on a years-long campaign to have it removed for creating a hostile work environment for women and Native Americans. After several formal complaints and public pressure, they finally succeeded when the GSA (General Services Administration,) the agency in charge of managing federal buildings, installed a screen in front of the mural as well as several other murals in the building deemed "dangerous." Today, the mural can only be viewed by scheduling an appointment with the GSA.
