What the hell is up with all of these TATTOOS everywhere? “Back in the Day” only Sailors got them when they were DRUNK in the Philippines. Then it became a “Thing” with STRIPPERS in the 90s. Now I see Dentists, Teachers, Nurses, Interns all TATTED UP. My Theory: It’s an Easy, quick way to feel Distinctive and Special, WITHOUT actually doing the WORK to be Distinctive and Special. Too much “Ink” and Selfies, Not enough GRIT. #tatsaresilly

This was not an uncommon experience in Anbar. I went in a true believer but after about 3 months it was clear no one had any clue what the grand strategy was. Shouldn't be a surprise that guys who went through this transformative period don't want zoomers to deal with the same.

Everyone assumes this picture of Buttigieg is him eating a chicken wing, and that's because he's biting in a way to engage his "rip-the-flesh-from-the-bone" front teeth, so we fill in "chicken wing" to make it make sense. But what he is actually eating is a small piece of a cinnamon roll, and our brains just can't comprehend biting into a small piece of dough that way. I went to a couple of these type of group meetings early on. TBH the prelude to the meeting was talk of drug and alcohol abuse shit talk. Once the meeting started the stories went something like this “when I was driving the wrecker on the FOB and a mortar attack happened I got scared.” I didn’t encounter one combat arms Veteran in a group of around 20-30.
