Always have thought this was a drag of a song to have performed alongside Get Back. Had they played something from early on, I Saw Her Standing There or Ticket To Ride it would have have more playfully fed into the moment.

@BeatlesEarth What this proves beyond doubt is that we need a deluxe edition of Magical Mystery Tour and not Rubber Soul. The outtakes of Baby you’re a Rich Man, All you Need is Love, Fool on the Hill and I am the Walrus are simply outstanding and shine brightly compared to the other tracks.

@BeatlesEarth I think it’s quite beautiful in its simplicity and in its use of the 7th in the middle eight.

“One and One Is Two” - Original Demo by Paul McCartney in early 1964. This song was intended to be given to Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas. In 1980, John Lennon later commented that this song was “another of Paul’s bad attempts at writing a song”

@batcountry1980 Can’t agree. While she didn’t actively break them up, Yoko was undoubtedly a catalyst in that occurring sooner rather than later. That’s even been admitted by John himself and is evident from scenes in the Get Back series.

I don’t now, or ever have, believe in the whole “Yoko broke up The Beatles” nonsense. But see even if she had broke them up, I’m more than happy with the music we got and John meeting the love of his life, rather than more Beatles music, no Yoko and an incomplete John.

@BeatlemaniaUK What’s amazing in this post is that the originator has failed to realise that the photo is irrelevant to his post but is instead a unique shot of the Beatles rehearsing for the Ed Sullivan show with Neil Aspinall in place of George.

A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles Recorded: 16 April 1964 When the deal was made to make the movie, The Beatles had not yet caught on in America and there were fairly low expectations for the film, as The Beatles were thought of as a fad that would soon pass. #Beatles #TheBeatles

@ADixonMusic So we’re getting those two issues re-released to us in dribs & drabs on these compilation re-issues. I can’t get excited about the 1990s sessions. Some nice reminiscing, but it will never be The Beatles for me.

@ADixonMusic Sadly, I think we’re hitting the bottom of the barrel, but it was inevitable. You can only record so much in seven years. Ideally, they should’ve released Rubber Soul and Magical Mystery Tour in deluxe format, but there’s probably not enough material to justify the effort.

A brand new Beatles Anthology episode featuring reunion sessions from Paul/George/Ringo in the 1990s? OK, now I'm excited for this!

@BuzzRothfield I thought it looked worse in slow motion, but there was definitely at least a half-hearted stripping action.

@yokoono Sorry, but only a revisionist would not accept that you played a role in the band's collapse in late '69. Of course, you were not the sole reason, but let's not gild the past by denying the probability that The Beatles may have limped on for at least a year or two more...

@McCARTNEYLEGACY @sdedition Your books are indeed terrific, but there’s a touch of competitive rivalry in your post. Paul is entitled to write his own account & the inference that one account is better or more informed than the other is unhelpful. Readers will delight in both - & will form their own views.

@peterlanee I find his drumming far too busy and a little bit messy from time to time. Virtuosity & skill do not always equal quality.

Paul McCartney and his band playing Maybe I’m Amazed from SNL’s 40th Anniversary celebration in 2015. You can see a chunk of Abe’s drumstick fly off… he then tosses it behind him and grabs a new stick without missing a beat. What a beast. He’s always been phenomenal
